So yesterday my friend and I installed a stage 4 icon kit on my 2017 Tacoma! It’s awesome! Buuuut the ride hight adjustment has me a bit confused. Out of the box it had a preload set already. I cranked it about 4 more turns on each Side (a little more in the driver side) still not seeing a huge difference. I just want to know how many turns any of you guys are using to have the truck sit level it’s still looks a little higher in the rear.
I also don’t want to loose too much travel. It’s got me over thinking everything I think but just wondering your guys set ups! 6F8786DF-3C36-459B-A1D3-B786B81F760E.jpg6F8786DF-3C36-459B-A1D3-B786B81F760E.jpg A9DF30C0-BA9B-4C2F-9C0D-DB9B6F516D49.jpgD39458A2-79BA-4224-B3B7-0A68F5348FB9.jpg

Where you're at now looks about right for rougly 2-2.5" of overall ride height. I have mine cranked a bit more to give a true 2.75" of ride height and my down travel sucks, so I'd recommend leaving it where you're at.

Also keep in mind that there are some benefits to having a bit of rake (leaving the rear about a half inch higher) when loading down the bed and for general driving aerodynamics.

Are you measuring? Center of hub to edge of fender flare. You need to do that all around before and after any adjustments.

I am measuring on both sides and after putting it on it added about 3-4” inches of height total at out of box preload... yah. I know it’s good for loading stuff into the bed but I never really load it down anyways I usually have low weight stuff in the bed.. but yah thanks guys for the input

Do you plan on offroading? The down travel you'll take away going any higher will be extremely noticeable (and limiting) when you get into the off-camber stuff. If say where you're at is best, but hey, it's your rig! Do what fits your style.

If you have 650 coils, you do not want to turn them up past 2.25" of preload. Turned up that much will make your front taller than the rear with your AAL with the kit. I have the same lift kit, great riding kit.

At 2.25" of preload with 650lb springs, you are only looking at 2.5" of down travel with extend travel coilovers. But that will give you the full 2.75" of lift. If you have the AAL and set the front to full preload then your front will set up higher then rear. Here is a pic of where mine are set to match the rear Icon AAL, very close to level (this is driver side). You will need the RXT leaf pack if you want to go taller or some other leaf option.

I am wondering if they sent me 700lb springs by mistake now. I never looked, I assumed they were 650's. I'll look today. Yours also looks like it sits up a lot taller than mine. What size tires are you on.

    Here's how mine sits.
