I got to taste a bunch of those not too long ago. Liked the 10 or 12 yo the best. I thought the 15-20+ ones could have used a splash of water maybe? they seemed higher proof which took away some of the flavor.

I like a lot of whiskeys but this one is probably my goto favorite, for now.

They’re not gifts the my are for personal consumption. I went to Premier liquor store in Amherst NY while visiting family in Buffalo. Ive been in raffles and all sorts of stuff including waiting list. So when I seen them I bought them.

Yup that’s also why. I would never see a bottle of any one of those in my lifetime there

We’re those the last bottles they had? I would compensate you very well for that grouping right there

They are not the last ones they restocked when I grabbed mine. And they are not for sale.

For those of us who can't afford 5k but can afford a flight to HI....when's the TW tasting event??  congrats on those. That's honestly a once in a lifetime opportunity to get all 4 of those legendary labels, at once.

And while I was in the mood I cracked open this bottle when I got home... AMAZING stuff.

There are a number of stores around here with the Van Winkle and BTAC verticals on the shelf, but I either don't have the balls or the bank to pay those secondary prices for them. Probably both . I just stay in the raffles as much as I can and cross my fingers that I'll get the opportunity to buy one at retail. The Old Rip Van Winkle 10 year I got this year was $80.

I'm happy to know that those are going to get opened! Looking forward to the pics and the tasting notes.

My latest pickup is this Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve. They certainly aren't unique in doing this, but this blend of malts is selected to make a Scotch that is robust enough to better compliment a cigar.

I'll invite some friends over for some pours and charge them each a good stogie.
