So I just got an alignment after installing my OME lift w/o new UCAs and they got my caster to 2.0 and 1.9. I didn't think the stock UCAs would allow for that much caster, now my front mudflaps will fit again for sure.

 

Damn, I wanted to avoid spacers. I liked the look already.

 

I’m about to pull the trigger in a full OME suspension. I’m trying to get a full 3 inch lift so I this is what I came up with .

887 with the 90021 sport
Rear medium duty Dakar with 90021 sport
Total chaos UCA

Am I crazy or is the a decent setup? Will I damage the cvs with This setup? I don’t have plans on a heavy bumper the one I looked at was only 70 pounds. Thanks in advance.

 

It's a good setup. I have the same but with 886s. CVs are a consumable item, cheap, and easy to swap. I've replaced three in the last five years and my truck gets wheeled pretty hard. Your CVs will be fine for a good amount of time. You can also do the boot slide mod the help out with boot wear.

Go with 888.

 

Go with 888 front and medium Dakar rear. Use corespondinf ome shocks.
Don’t need uca or lca for this.

Here is my review/experience so far:

Pros:

I love the new shocks, as stated before by most, it's a stiffer ride but not over bearing. Truck doesn't "roll" into turns. The ride is about the same, there is sometimes a little shudder taking off. I don't think i need to replace the needle bearing. I had some vibes soon after the install (nothing terrible, but i noticed), but they never went away when i engaged 4wd. Truck drives the same at 80mph before and after lift. That being said, i installed my lift with 105k miles, so it's got some wear on it. The suspension has softened up a good bit in the 2 weeks i've had it installed (had it installed by a shop i trust). The initial break in wasn't bad, but it wasn't this "so much better than stock" that some people say. For those wondering, full install (including UCA, leafs, shocks, alignment) came right around $600. The dakars in the back do not squeak, which is an improvement over the non-tsb 3-leaf i had (biggest reason i didn't do an AAL) that squeaked often.

ALSO, @HeadStrong Off-Road was fantastic. They answered my questions, got the stuff out the door and delivered on time. I couldn't have been happier. So a big thanks to them.


Cons:
I do have the over speed bump goes clunk (OSBGC). But i knew the "risk" of that. It is not over bearing, and it only occurs on the tall/short speed bumps. Nothing over the long speed bumps. I do have a little shudder on take offs (about 50% of the time), that i can't pin point, but it's nothing i can't overlook (can't expect it to ride the same/better after lifting, especially since it's not a King/ADS/Icon). That being said, these "cons" are nothing, I would do the lift again in an instant. I've got a bad rear axel bearing (not due to lift), so i can feel the roaring from it now (before i couldn't), probable due to the stiffer components.

Oh, and i forgot my pre-lift measurements, but i'm at about a 1/4-1/2in rake so i'm sitting almost level, but am hoping that the front end comes down a little over time.


Final Thoughts:

I had the same wheels before and after to help me eliminate any potential issues, but i plan on going with 255/80/17s once my tires run out. The CV angles aren't terrible, the passenger side has a greater angle, but this will change with taller tires. Thanks to all who posted on here and helping me with my addiction! LOL

 

Your shudder might be due to the shims and/or CB drop. Were your driveline angles out of spec after lifting it to require one or both?

 

it's definitely possible. The guys that installed it said the CB had a bad angle in it and the drop kit helped. they also mentioned that the angles were close to original, so it would seem they paid some sort of attention to it during install. I may need more of a drop, but it's such a small thing, it's really not that bothersome to me (and little things really bother me). I'd play around with it if i had the tools/time (which is the main reason i had someone else install it).

Hey guys. Which leafs do I take out of my dakars to make them sit way lower? The ride height is crazy high.

Does OME make leaf packs that raise the rear about 2”? Looking to replace my deaver which only gave me about an inch of lift.

Yes they do, they are full leaf replacements. Medium duty gives 2" lift without any extra weight and heavy duty gives 2" with 600 lbs loaded

I dont have one, I have an add a leaf that I got from Headstrong offroad, but they sell the full leaf packs as well.
