It was sitting at a Ford dealership (in front) and I told my dad I had to have it. I worked at a grocery store and he said if I thought I could pay for it, I could get it. I think my payments were $65 a month.
This is what it looked like before I blew all the stripes off at a car wash.

My love for the truck started after my dad gave me a 94 Pickup 4wd. After getting married with stepkids and a having a kid of my own, we had to let it go. We just picked up a '18 TRD OR so it's like full circle.
Still wishing we didn't let go of the pickup though.

Mine was a 85 4x2 regular cab 22R engine with a four speed, vinyl seats, no A/C and six ply tires. I paid $5,800.00 new for the truck.

I loved my 2004 cause it was a bulletproof partner and did everything I asked it to for 12 years with no complaints. I only like my 16.

I had the fancy black SR5 pictured in the brochure. Moonroof, sliding rear window, air conditioning, cruise, automatic, etc. Fun truck. Wish I still had it.

Saw a lifted 2004 double cab back in the day and new that a Tacoma would be my next vehicle. Liked the size, look, and the utility. Wanted a manual transmission SR5. Didn’t get one till 2007 when I found a used 2007 2.7 Gen 2 access cab SR5 Prerunner on a lot for sale during the high fuel prices. (Trucks weren’t selling - even the 2.7). They wanted $23K. I offered $20k and they laughed at me. I walked. About a month later they called me and said it hadn’t sold and they’d take the deal. I then offered $18k. They said no so I walked again. A month later they called and said okay. I offered $17K out the door and told them I’d pick it up TODAY. Drove home my first Taco **out the door** for $17K!! Kid you not. Drove the thing for about 10 years till April 2017 with 250K on it when I bought my Gen3 TRD Sport. The thing was MINT and not a thing wrong with it. Would have kept it too, but needed a double cab for the growing kiddos. Great trucks and no regrets - even with the oddities around the gen3

I owned a 4 Dr Taco 2006 I wasn't in love with it but it was reliable. After owning a Jeep Wrangler for years I loved but it just wasn't great on gas and no room for equipment. I am now a Proud owner of a 2016 SR5 Taco and I couldn't be happier. A dream truck for me. I will have this truck u til it dies on me which will not be for a very long time. I love the new models Gen 3 so clean.

It took me a while but I finally figured it out.... The early Taco’s reminded me of the old Triumph TR6’s - because they both had big wheels in relation to the vehicle. Now here’s the thing - when you see a puppy - their feet grow first and that’s one of the reasons you can’t help but love ‘em. ( and Tacos last much longer than puppy’s).

Man I wish I had taken pictures...
Started with an '83 mud truck, got a '99 pick up, then a 2004 AC OR 4x4, then a couple of 2nd gen Tundras, then a '12 Sport 4x4, last was a '15 OR 4x4, both in Double Cab.
I carry a 1,000 lbs of tools for work in the box, the last OR was a beauty, killer off road, but I work everyday, not 4 wheel unfortunately. Soooo I got a giant 3/4 ton GMC.

I never had a love for tacoma trucks. But I do have one for toyota trucks. My first truck was a 1984 solid axle reg cab long bed. It died in a tornado while protecting me. Then I had a 1992 v6 extended cab. Drove it forever and my buddy bought it. Now I have my first tacoma, a 2014 reg cab 4x4. After reading this sight for that past 5 years, and watching everything on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gens....I think my reg cab with a supercharger could possibly be the coolest truck I could end up with of all toyota trucks. Now to pay for the supercharger.

Living in Arizona my entire life I’ve always been around lifted and modded trucks. I always wanted a lifted truck in high school but my dad would not let me get one because of gas. I have always had a car and most recently had a Infiniti G37. I loved it and never had any issues. One day my urge to get a truck kicked back in and I’ve always admired the Tacoma because of the reviews, resale, dependability, and look. I also wanted a mid size truck so that it could fit in my garage. I didn’t even look at any other truck, I knew that I wanted a Tacoma. No regrets and purchased in September. Have been going off roading and have been building it up. Couldn’t be happier and I will never go back to a car.
