No garage door opener on my 2018 Taco Sport? Weird?

    More common... criminals break into a vehicle with a portable garage door opener (while car/truck is at a shopping center or mall crawling), take remote and snap a picture of your insurance or registration (something with your address on it), then proceed to gain access to your home and steal your valuables.

    If you've got a Liftmaster garage door opener they've got a wireless wifi set you can wire to the opener . Then by using their app on your smartphone you can open your garage from anywhere in the world . Also this set up will notify you whenever your garage is opened without you knowing

    Are you serious? Every vehicle manufacturer that wants to sell in Commiefornia needs to equip extra emissions junk and add proposition 65 stickers just to meet their silly rules.

    He's right, there are CA emissions spec vehicles and then there are simply Federal emissions spec vehicles. CA has a host of other emissions equipment requirements. Under my hood of my 2004 there is a sticker that says it meets CA emissions regulations, so that the smog tech knows what kind of test to run when doing my truck (unfortunately for me). Federal emissions equipped trucks (non CA) don't have to have the same equipment. They can still be owned and operated in CA but any new vehicle sold here has to meet CA standards specifically.

    Right, that all changed a while back when Toyota and many other manufacturers switched to a 50 state emission certified vehicles, basically CA emissions. Part of my business is a vehicle registration service and we do quite a few vehicle verifications for out of state vehicles. So far I haven't see any new vehicle that didn't meet CA emissions. Every single one has the CA compliant sticker.

    interesting, didn't know that they changed it but makes sense I guess. Less complicated that way. I know that with 1st gens there are just as many non-CA emissions ones around as there are CA compliant ones, but maybe that changed around the time of the 2nd gen

    It started somewhere around 2007-2009 when some states adopted CA emission standards and more were on the way, therefore most major manufacturers proactively switched to CARB standards (win/win for everyone). I think there are like around 16-20 major states that adopted CARB standards since, and by 2017 all vehicles sold in US were suppose to comply with CA standards.

    haha sucks to suck. really sad that you would complain about not having a garage door opener built into your truck.... your garage door has a remote... with a clip on it... to put in your vehicle. for what its worth, my 2012 base model came with the homelink ;)
