Anyone have suggestions on additional ways to warm up if you are below your sleeping bag limit? Have a 35-40° bag and just want some extra insulation for when the temps get down lower than that. Don’t want a heater in a tent so any other options would be great. Thanks!

Trip #2 in the CVT Mt. Shasta was a success. It seems to me, on average, the temperature inside the tent is up to 10* warmer than the temperature outside with my wife, our pup, and I snoring away inside. I have a nice 0* bag and was so hot that I had to keep my upper body exposed. Very impressed with the cold weather handling. It also got pretty windy in the morning. Gusts as high as 10-15mph and we were on a partially exposed hilltop. The tent was loud, but I wasn't concerned about anything blowing away. I have the non-extended version, and the annex wasn't attached.

Perhaps the best part of the trip was it totally convinced my friend's wife to agree to a RTT for his Tacoma. They were ground camping, on an air mattress, freezing, almost getting blown away while we were snug and warm up off the ground.

I've wanted one of these things for so long, and so far it has been an amazing investment. We sold our old Pop-up camper to fund the RTT, and while it doesn't have anywhere near the amenities of a pop-up the convenience and comfort is amazing.

Do you have any other pictures of the theft prevention brackets? I have been looking for something that will deter the thieves. Any info as to where I can buy them? Thanks in advance

    I have mods
You can get them from here - https://www.wheeleveryweekend.com/products/rtt-security-clamps

They are the only place that I have seen making those. They have them for various size bars and use the standard security nuts that I have seen other tent manufacturers use. They don't have them for flat bars yet, only tube.

Post disclaimer: I did not search for answers. Too much reading involved and getting motion sickness from being in the car for going on 8 hours.

Question: I’m thinking about getting the ARE overland series she’ll for my truck. I like the look and from what little research I had done prior I think it was a bit more reinforced than the other models, but that could be wrong. Anyways, what racks (not prinsu, or front runner) are people using to mount? And does it all seem stout and sturdy? Can you leave it on for weeks at a time without issue? I don’t really wheel the truck much anymore but will be going on smaller camp trips and want the shell to house the dogs and the RTT for me And the girl. I also don’t have a big enough garage to drive in and lift off the RTT so getting it off might require keeping it on for a few weeks until I’m able to get the time to remove it.

Just something to add to the decision Snugtop is local, ARE is mfg east of the mighty Mississipp... IF I'm not mistaken.

Took the CVT out for the first time over the break. We experienced a myriad of weather from gale force winds to below freezing temps and couldn’t be happier with how the tent performed. Definitely looking forward to our next trip and purchasing a teton sleeping bag for the misses and I. F9E3611F-8A86-434A-93E1-29C553E3BA2F.jpg0616ABFE-305D-4E27-A2C2-D2DE1B64DD01.jpg

Took the pups out for a test run of everything before Big Bend. I'm still amazed with how much room there really is in the annex.

Any issues with inner lining moving/shifting when inside the bag? I have a single person Teton bag and the inner liner is only secured at the edges. Nobody in my family will use it bc the liner moves whenever you move or roll in the bag and gets uncomfortable quickly.

I didn't really notice that, but let me get a little more use and I'll tell you for sure.

I haven’t noticed that with my double. I move around a lot when sleeping and so does the wife, haven’t had an issue.

Side note, the CVT wouldn’t close with the 0* in it and I previously threw away the stuff sack. Had to find another option.

For those that have done the same this was easy and fit fine.

Any suggestions for mounting a RTT to the actual roof of my DC so that I could maintain the use of my bed with tonneau? Will be purchasing a diamondback HD this week.
