It drives me absolutely NUTS when people call it a "baby truck" or I wanna hit a trail with my friend (who's ex had a beat up chevy 1500) and she tells me "no way! You'll definitely get stuck and we'll have to pull you out with the Subaru." Like yeah, I get it, my trucks small by today's standards, but is it really less capable than a 90s Chevy 1500 off road?! And I'd like to see a stock 2016 Forester TRY to follow me on a trail. Rant over lol

My first car was a 2000 Jeep XJ on a 3" lift and that thing went ANYWHERE. Man, do I miss it.

Anyone else have this thing where people underestimate your truck because it's not a friggin 2500 Diesel? Maybe it's just because all my friends are ages 18-23...

Who cares what anyone else thinks. Figure that out and your life will be far less stressful and more enjoyable.

They are baby trucks, that’s the whole reason to own one.

Check out my build thread (Beginning of Money Pit)
2500 or f250s wont fit on the jeep trails I run.

Funny thing is, I have seen jeep Cherokee trail hawks do some things that surprised the hell out of me.

Naw...because I just show em up.
Dont bother me 1 bit OP.

I am an observer in life. I dont fall short on opportunity, I just chill and watch it all unfold in a way speaking.
And in most cases. Not all but most it's not the tool it's the user.
I like my truck. I have over 130k and not 1 issue that I don't cause.
I can't speak for other auto makes but maybe it prevented maintenance.
In short fuc* what people think..

By the way....A personal perspective we drive chick trucks. LOL! More times than not unless built I look over and it's a girl driving.

I mean I get that it's a small truck, just gets annoying. Like the Asian jokes. I get so many Asian jokes, and driving a small truck perpetuates the idea that Asians are weak.

It's a skirt truck, like a Honda Civic. You just get in it and go. That's what I love about it over all these other trucks. I drive work trucks at the shops I sub at. 550s to 150s mostly diesel. I get back in my truck at end of day and I'm happy I'm not driving a stinken semi truck home and to and from the regular things I do.

Um... it is a weak little truck when compared to a f350 super duty.
Just as the F350 is pretty much worthless on a old mining trail in the Rocky Mountains. It’s all from your prespective.

So few people know how to work that ebrake to power torque your wheels and make it crawl. We used to have bets who could get the furthest in 2wd

I've been thinking of getting myself a wench because of that. Although I've come across this looking for one for my truck to do more cool work like picking up jet ski and boat motors image_22955.jpg

A wench is a bad Idea... they tend to get pissed very easily when they have to pull, or push your truck over/out of a obstacle.:D

I had been thinking of a bumper winch for hoisting hog I see guys using crane mostly. Never in my life have I ever used one off roading, always did heavy stuff in a group. Floating trucks in the swamp there isn't much to hookup to but some catails

I couldn't ever own a 2wd truck. It just feels wrong to me. I've lived my whole life in Maine and I had to throw it in 4 on my driveway today...Not to mention, I spent my whole life laughing and wondering why anyone would own a 2wd truck in Maine. (No offense, and I understand there are many capable 2wd trucks, but they're blasphemy in Maine)

    To each their own
    And to each their needs

And bless those who don't dip or trail their 4wd so I can get a nice used one when the time comes. I've been thinking about one for a while now.

I don't take mine off road much...But you won't want it after the salt gets to it.

Even though I'm getting sea breezes right now and I put wet dive gear in bed my truck, it doesn't get nearly as salt battered as up north. Especially under the skirt where it counts.

Nope. Can't avoid it. Drive an hour in the winter on the highway and your truck is white from the bottom to about the windows. You do have to clean salt off the windows too, though
