That’s rad AF! I read the story and I’m glad they relocated them on his property and avoided just outright killing them.

Why? There's clearly no shortage of them there and those are not the kind of snake I want hanging around. Not trying to be an asshole I'm just genuinely curious.

I really like snakes and I hate it when they are killed for no reason whatsoever. It is winter and they are probably going into brumation (kinda like hibernation) and that’s why they were congregated in a large group.

That's cool and all but those aren't pets and they're not going to stay dormant forever. I don't have anything against snakes in general and am actually glad to know I have a fairly large speckled king snake that hangs around my house but I've had close encounters with venomous snakes and I don't care to repeat them.

Also, I'm going to retract my initial thoughts of burning them. That's a small fortune in anti-venom. No way I'd relocate them on my property though.

Edit: I happen to like the king snake quite a bit. It's free range but I've pet it a couple of times and we've caught toads for it. We have fewer mice since it arrived and I'd like to keep it around.

I don’t consider them pets either and I’m sure once it warms up they’ll disperse to their normal territory and more than likely they would never run across one out on the land. Having grown up in southern AZ up until I joined the CG I had maybe 3 encounters with western DB’s in the desert. All kindly let me know I was getting too close to them too.

I think I’m the context of the story with them under the shed, they were relocated to protect his livestock. I’m sure they are a considerably smaller threat to his livestock than the prairie dogs and ground squirrels (holes the animals step in and risk breaking legs)

Fair enough. We do have western diamondback and timber rattlesnakes and I've seen a few but most of my experience is with copperheads and cottonmouths. They don't give much of a warning.

Copperheads and cottonmouths do worry me. Those fuckers are really good at hiding and saying surprise motherfucker when you get too close. Copperheads are beautiful snakes but I fed give them a wide berth

Same here. Hiking in False Cape State Park in VA Beach area, we saw a ton of cottonmouths. They were agressive, and would chase after us if we tried to get a better look at them. Wife and I like snakes though, and would have done the same as the guy in the video and had the WDs relocated. They're great for pest control!
