I’ve loved the third gens ever since my brother bought one... As I’ve said before I won’t get one but it’s purely financial. My
2nd gen is almost paid off. No car payment is way better than a new truck to me.

Now you sound like one of the guys bitching about the 3rd gen generalizing about everyone.
Older Tacos are great. These guys aren't sitting in any basement!

I suggest a meal at Applebee's tonight for all 3rd gen owners, esp the Voodoo blue folks so they can reminisce about how basic they really are.

I'd suggest a meal at Panera Bread for those 1st gen owners that think they've found cultural nirvana in owning a 1st gen, but some of them might have to eat off the dollar menu at McDonald's.

Correct, its a 3rd gen Pickup.

Mine has 300k on it, with the last 100k of it being SASed. Best trucks ever.

Interesting....I am only here since Feb 2016, but based on threads like the halftime speech and others, I would have figured it's been "sensitive" before 3rd gens rolled out.

When TW came online, the 1st and 2nd gens were already out.

I do remember it being pretty wild when I first joined....a lot of third gen threads were rife with established members commenting about how "fucked up" 3rd gen members were.

    Like this gem....

It’s an odd lack of confidence that drives people to over compensate for it.

Save this comment and keep the truck 15 years. At that time review how you feel about the 5th gen and report back. :D

You need to update your profile. :p

They're just a minor annoyance, as nobody really cares what they think.

It’s funny how this happens in every forum. 10 years ago all the E46 M3 guys were bagging on the E9X M’s.....now most of them own them. The funny thing is now they all bag on the F8X M’s. Give it 10 years and they will all be in one. As the price goes down, they tend to become a little more “accepted”. Some people do keep their old ones to be financially responsible. My personal thought is that it is not many. Usually it’s for financial reasons. If I look at you with two trucks and one is noticeable better in every way, what one are you going to choose if price was not an option?

I have had Toyotas since my first; an '86 4Runner which was a hell of a truck. I have owned: a '92 4Runner, 1998 4Runner, 2002 Tacoma (my first Taco), and now I own a 2007 TRD Pre-Runner that I didn't have to sell to get into this 2019 TRD Sport. If you have had the whole line of these trucks, you realize how much better every successive model is, how Toyota has really striven to make a better product. The 2007 Tacoma was such a monumental step up from the 2002 Tacoma, I didn't think it could be improved upon much.

It has been improved on a lot.

Upgraded exterior looks, features, and creature comforts. My girlfriend rode in it for the first time last night and she thought in the dark it compared interior-wise to her Range Rover. lol.

Same reason the 3rd gen owners will hate on the 4th gen owners, when it’s released.

If you want a solution, then just ignore it. It’s my truck. I paid for it with my own money. Everyone else can piss off with their opinions and haterade, I’m driving it not them.
