Appreciate the help anyway. I think I’ll get it flushed anyway. When I get home from my trip.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Might have a solenoid that's acting up, can happen as they get older, sometimes my LC starts in 3rd. Easy enough to replace them. To check it, next time it does this slam it right into 1st and when you're ready to shift go to 2nd. Or alternatively check it's logic by starting in second and see if it now goes to 2nd. The lever actually manually actuates the valves in the valve body

Went looking for, and found, the source of the wet passenger carpet in my new-to-me taco. A little the vapor barrier in the door, a lot the rust at the top corner of the windshield. :/
Did some quick grinding, acid etching, rust encapsulating/prevention and re-sealed the windshield gap with a generous bead of Windo Weld. Ordered a couple of spray cans of duplicolor and am undecided whether to actually do some bodywork (sanding, filling, smoothing, priming, painting) or just mask off the windshield and rattle-can it.
    IMG_6344.jpg IMG_6348.jpgIMG_6351.jpg
also rattle-canned my $25 new-to-the-truck take off skid plate that replaced the rotten one and mounted it up.

Installed my driveshaft with new ujoints and carrier bearing today. Then was looking around and found this looks like its time for new CV joints they have less then 10k miles

I vote for mask off and rattle can. And later if it bugs ya, it prolly wouldn't me, you can deal with it. But at least buy yaself some time. or might it buy you time as it is now? Looks good to me :D

Right?! Especially at 'street level' with the moulding in place it really doesn't stand out. And as is, it should really be fine- the black stuff being POR 15. I'm leaning towards rattle can myself. I mean we wouldn't want this thing to get too nice or I'd start washing it on a regular basis...

Camburg 3.5 over Lt kit. Not sure how much higher then stock I am but looks like I'll be doing a diff drop when I do the new cvs. And probably wont go with autozone crap this time

At 3.5" over stock, whatever you replace them with, I think you'll need to do something about the boots to get them to last longer. Looks like boot has been torn a while? So prolly not gonna be able to save that axle with a boot job?

It's not a 3.5in lift it's a long travel kit, not sure how much it lifted the front end from stock tho. But yes my angels are off. I'm going to do a diff drop and the CV boot mod. I just lifted the front end off the ground and I think that's what caused it to rip that much. I noticed cracks in them about a month ago and just noticed the tear today. The boots are super dry for some reason I was able to peal a different seam with my finger by pushing it. These probably actually have less then 5k miles on them

He's referring to having a long travel kit that is 3.5" wider per side. So it's a bug hard time just how much lift you have.

    Tundra CVS are used

This is correct thank you for explaining it alittle better then I was able to.

Currently looking for the best tundra CV on the market. Might just bite the bullet and do oem, these autozone ones didnt last and I know they come with a lifetime warranty but dont want to have to keep replacing them

Worked on my Satoshi grill a little more that’s been sitting for almost a year.

Painted the inside lip flat black, color matched the rest, taped off and color matched the side markers. It looks good from 3 feet away or further. Closer, well, no one will confuse me with a professional paint and auto body guy.

What gear oil weight do I use for the new nitro gears?

My rear end shop (& so does ECGS) recommends dino 85W-140 for the rear & is what I've been running. Not sure about the front though, that may be too thick for the front.
