Permanent Rausch Creek thread

Yup. Two nights, some hiking and some Wheeling on the fire roads. Open invitation, but we're going to be driving fast.

I haven't touched it since AOAA. And I'm going to be working or doing family shit, and gutting my master bathroom, until I leave for the trip.

New rear suspension, bed cage, and new rack in the works for next year. This trip will incolvi ratchet straps again.

Been there twice this year already. It’s a fun spot & great camping...
Nice wheeling too with some pretty spectacular views of the Shenandoah Valley. Be sure to drive up to Reddish Knob too. The views are worth it.

 

The over look with all the spray paint right? You can spot the giant radio dishes!

 

We'll come up that way, I want to camp at lower altitude and hopefully warmer the first night.

 

Stoped there on my way to NC this summer. Wish we could have camped and explored more trails but had to make the ferry to Portsmouth Island.

 

where was the look out? I've been to rausch a bunch and haven't seen that! looks great!

 

This has transformed from a Rausch thread to a Virginia thread lol. You won’t find stuff like that at Rausch. Rausch is just rocks and gear oil puddles

It appears to be reddish knob which is near flagpole knob.

 

I'll have to make a trip then sometime!!

 

Reddish knob is just a cool overlook, but it’s right near flagpole where you can camp and some light wheeling. Would definitely recommend.
