    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

    Yes, I did all the suspension work on mine. It's all pretty simple, especially on CA trucks that aren't all rusted. OME leafs are good, lots of people run them. Shoot, I've helped install OME on @TacoJohn4x4's 1st gen, @Sharkfrog's 2nd gen, @roguegs 3rd gen, and others, they are all happy with them.

    I've got to take my son to SFO on 1/3. Since I'll be taking the whole day off, I'm going to try to swing down and pick up my bumper.

    That's cool. If I get one of the suspension kits, could you help me out? I'm glad to hear that you'll be able to get your bumper on 1/3. I travel to Santa Cruz/ Monterey quite a bit.

    I would absolutely help you out getting your lift installed. My garage is pretty much always open for friends that need to do shit on their trucks. We've already done 2 mod days here and I've had buddy's bring their trucks over to do stuff quite a few other times. It be best to do it here cause I have all the tools needed, and with enough time to coordinate, I know we can get a few others here to help. We could easily knock it out in a day.

    If you get a chance, click on my build thread. Most of the nonsense I've done to my truck is either in there or linked to it.

    I'm a bit of a noob, but I scored a nice trailer hitch, have the trailer hitch install kit & breaker bar, and would like to get it installed before I bring the truck in to have the head unit with the bluetooth mic and backup camera installed. Having someone who's done mods and is a little more mechanically inclined to guide me through the install would motivate me to help out.

    Nothing wrong with being a noob brother. I'll bet @Sharkfrog would tell you he was a noob when a few of us help him lift his truck... But now... He's done a lot of cool shit to his truck. It's one of the cleanest, most trail worthy 2nd gens in here. He's done a lot of it himself.

    Oh, well. I bought that trailer hitch last year from a farmer who pulled it off of his Tacoma in Hollister as well.

    You can call either Alcan or Deaver and they will customize springs to your liking. The benefit of buying the Expedition springs from Allpro ( now Trail Gear) is if you need to take off your camper the expedition springs are much more manageable for an every day driver with some added weight in the back. A custom 1000+ set of springs without that camper on it would be a nightmare to drive.

    I have All Pro Expos with a bed rack and tent on full time...maybe 200lbs. They are stiff springs but the weight helps, and they do hold the weight much better than Dakars +AAL do ( my previous setup)

    With that much weight yeah I agree with @Uphillshunter you'll need air bags as well...my Expos start to sag with ~500 lbs in the bed

    @eon_blue:

    Thank you very much on your input and sharing your experiences about your truck suspension upgrades. I clicked on your truck build link and you did a great job on your build! That was inspiring for me to check out.
