i still dont know how these balljoints go bad soo often.. i beat the shit outa my truck with the original balljoints until i replaced them at 270k. and even then, yes they were loose. but no play. (then again i was only 2" lift up front.)

thats not a factory ball joint.

probably fine.. but why do you need one? I replaced mine with a LCE aluminum pulley

Ah. Im sure you can find a used one easily if you want factory. but the Aftermarket should be fine.. theyre not balencers for the engine.. just dampeners. the engine is 100% internally balanced

 

Gonna help a friend replace an alternator on his explorer with the 4.0 in it. Why cant toyota put it at the top of any of their motors? This job looks like a 30 minute task.

 

I know you're smart enough to know how bad an idea that is especially on an engine you intend to boost. Now you have noting to kill the harmonics from ignition

I've seen engines walk the crank from those solid pulleys

 

I know the risk. But honestly I ran it for 70k miles and when I pulled the engine apart saw no negative effects. (Granted I wasn’t boosted)
