Yeah I questioned it too when I saw the weight on my work order when I got my Yukons installed. Their reasoning is better protection in applications where the gears will be susceptible to higher loads from bigger tires, offroading, extra weight, towing etc. When I saw that ECGS recommended that weight also then I really didn't question it anymore. And plain ol dino too, no need for synthetic. I haven't noticed anything different running the thicker oil. I ran Mobil1 synthetic 75w-90 when I was stock. Diff stays pretty cool too, I was monitoring the temp during break in. Not sure if the thicker oil will make a difference in cold climates though. I'm in Socal, no cold weather here.

But again, I think 85w-140 too thick for the front, may want to check on that.

Actually ECGS does say to run 80w-90 for extreme cold climates. They recommend to use Lucas dino but I know there are a lot of Lucas oil haters. I'm running the Lucas dino right now. My rear end shop didn't really recommend a brand of oil, they just say any dino oil in 85w-140

I use Lucas 80W-90 at the recommendation of JustDifferentials, for both front and back diffs (with Nitros) + transfer case.

    I have mods
Did some exploring today while trying to find snow. Original plan didn't work out as the road I was going to take was closed. Alternate route ended up being all on graded but lightly maintained roads. Still heavily traveled tho. I did find a few fun side trails but still nothing that required 4wd. Me and the pup had a good time tho.

Replaced both outside door handles after the passenger door handle snapped off. Didn’t wanna chance the driver one snapping and have to Luke Duke it for a few days waiting on a replacement.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Hey, that looks like the same thing I got from Homer Taco.

I tripped out when I first opened it. It looked like it was cut for a 2nd gen. lol

I think I'm going to do an 01-04 "Toyota" tailgate emblem on mine. And I'll paint the mesh with some Por15 spray black.

Yes, absolutely because it’s cold. I believe this is a safety feature. If I drive off immediately in the morning without letting the truck warm up, it won’t shift from first. This is normal as I’ve been told to prevent damage to the transmission.
