Post Alley, that is the only place in recent history I've experience the urine smell. But I keep to Capitol Hill and SODO mostly.

We rented a house in Santa Cruz last week with my wife's family for Christmas, a short walk from the beach and on the first day her brother found a hypodermic needle in the sand lol.

Mayor Ed Lee passed away last month, you’re thinking of London Breed. She was interim for a while and she was just elected Mayor a few weeks ago.

I saw this happen in Hollywood a couple years ago. Homeless lady walked to the corner on a busy intersection (Western and Santa Monica, 2 really big streets there) popped a squat and started taking a dump. I was on my way to work then and thought 'well, if that's not an omen that today is gonna suck I don't know what is'

Funny thing though was that the owner of the corner store right there came out and chased her off with a broom when she was mid-dookie...she ran off with a butt full of mud, no doubt

Kind funny/sad that in most areas we just worry about the neighbor's dog crapping on our lawn, in places like SF and Hollywood you have to worry about homeless people shitting in front of your business

This is an odd conversation, I don't think I've witnessed homeless people shitting which you think by now I would have considering all of downtown Phoenix is homeless people. Walked around downtown once and it was like a movie set, not one person like me. All just homeless folks, bummed me out, wanted to help but like where do you even begin in a situation like that.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
You're going to have to back a lot farther than that. Every mayor of SF since 1964 has had their head squarely in their ass.

That's why that place is such a shit hole.

This is the huge dilemma, what do you do with the issue, some of em dont want help. Its sad for sure. Give em food, not money. But yeah, couldnt believe it when I saw it. Full steamer right after I ate a sando.

Yeah I feel that way too...but if I'm being honest, being around it so much has admittedly jaded me a bit. One guy recently had a sign that said 'if not for the grace of God you'd be like me' and it really hit me hard. But most people of sound mind that fall on hard times and end up on the streets, usually don't stay there for long...they take advantage of what help there is and find a way out. The sad reality though is that leaves mostly the mentally ill left to rot there indefinitely, and its hard to help those that don't want any or don't know that they need it.

It's okay, most major metropolitan areas are shitholes...it's just what happens when you cram too many humans in one place.

SF is too expensive and a bad place to live, sure. But I like it. I know better than to be asserting my opinions on here, but I’m very happy going to school in the city. Always something to do.

Oh ya know, listing reasons why California should crack at the San Andreas fault and float away into the Ocean so the rest of the country doesn’t have to deal with it.

I never liked SoCal all that much. SoCal is even more densely populated than my neck of the woods. At least we have open spaces and nature up here.

It’s alright, I’m used to it. Haven’t heard a single positive thing about living where I do.

Not the whole state...just most of the western portion of it. A hard restart of the coastal communities if you will
