It is done in the very early stages. Before anything that would get cooked at 400° goes on the camper. We have to use a special (and expensive :() heat activated epoxy instead of the normal polyurethane adhesive/ sealant between the camper and lower roof/ cabover. We do caulk the seam with the poly adhesive/ sealant after powder coating though.

The powdercoating is inside and out.

For the record, Zero, the camper that was flopped, only had the bolts holding the shell and lower roof/ cabover together. With foam camper tape in between. So every Drifter after Zero is more structurally sound.

Break? Wtf? Get your shit together and build these damn campers and get me that barn door conversion so I can put it through a proper test! :p.

All kidding aside, still loving the drifter. Crashed in a hotel last night 5 days no shower and only hot spring baths aka soaks and baby wipe showers suck and really only smear dirt. Anywys, I was a lil ripe and the dog was like wtf dad. Secretly i think she just loves hotels she prances when we walk into one like a little princess. Sigh

Deavers go on in the AM, airbags come
Off and go up for sale as does all the bo-51 shocks I have. Although, I’ve thought about keeping em all but i doubt I’ll eed them and might as well let em go to someone.

Had a quick overnight excursion at my local-ish hot springs. Was a wee bit brisk at 12 degrees this morning. I will say that it’s beyond dreamy to be able to close my Drifter effortlessly, even with flannel sheets, a goose down comforter, a fleece blanket, and two pillows all still in the sleeping platform. Not to mention zero water intrusion from the river crossing, let alone the snowfall. Didn’t need to de-ice or oil the latches despite the weather either. Got up to take a piss in the middle of the night without disturbing the misses as well. After a hungover brunch soak it was especially pleasing to close the lid with ease even with the swing-out open. Don’t miss my RTT at all. #happycamper

How did you manage to get out without kicking the misses. I’ve yet to figure out how thats going to be possible for my camping season this summer with the lady friend.

Um. Just get out of the bed without kicking her in the face. Simple. I’ve been doin it with no issues so far. It’s a lot easier than you would think comsidering you dont have to remove any panels or anything like that. Easy peasy.

Kind of confused on why you think it would be so difficult.

Its not a huge bed thats why. Walls on each side. And you have to turn 180 degrees doable but i guarantee i’d kick her square in the head haha.

Getting out of bed with 2 people is fairly easy. Flip to stomach. Go to your knees and move closer to the edge of the bed platform. Then just move to your butt and step down. Here’s a picture of me in bed, on a typical night, to help illustrate this:

    Oops. Wrong one ;)

Yea I’ve gotten down in the middle of the night to take a piss “downstairs” without waking up my wife pretty much every night we’ve slept in the Drifter. Seemless.

Cute. I don't disagree with anything you wrote but don't try to pretend it wasn't written that way on purpose.
