I've waited about a month and 1,500 miles to see if any of these issues might fix themselves after a "break in" period. They haven't. Other issues are mostly related to the design and probably no real way to change them.

    1. Drivers door won't latch unless I really slam it. I've found myself driving with it ajar a few times. I've shut it, walked away (without checking it) and found it ajar when I came back. Never had a vehicle that had such a difficult time closing a door.

    2. I guess this is a design issue: My access cab literally roars on the highway. I drive 60 miles r/t to work on I-95 and it sounds like a rear window is open. Deafening. My 1997 Saab w/200+k on it is like a Lexus compared to the Taco.

    3. When slowing down at about 20-25 mph the truck vibrates noticeably. I can feel it through the steering wheel. Noticeable because even though it is a 4 cyl it is buttery smooth at other times.

    4. Another design issue: The distance from the bottom drivers seat to the top of the door opening must have shrunk (or I grew taller) compared to my 2008. I'm not a big guy (5'10"/155lbs) but I have to crunch down to fit in the opening. Otherwise I knock my noggin when getting in or out. Will probably wear out the seat bolster sliding in and out.

I like the truck a lot, but not convinced it is a keeper. If I move to a double cab I think the cabin might be a bit quieter. I'm sure the dealer will adjust the door for me and look into the 20 mph vibration but I know drive line issues can be tough to track down, BTDT.

Have you taken it to the dealership to address the issues?
I just had my initial 5k “service” and addressed the following issues with mine.

    1) Wind noise/whistling driver side door at 40mph (they replaced the door seal ... no more noise)

2)Sluggish Power delivery/ lots of shifting, stumbles when stomping on it. Applied TSB 0062-18

    3) Rattling sound passenger seat? Sunroof? (They’ didn’t do anything with the seat but replaced or adjusted the sunroof insulation)

    4) Rear Bumper Cap alignment (they acknowledged it’s an issue but they said there is no adjustment for it ... we inspected 10 other new trucks in their lot and 9 out of 10 had uneven gaps)

If you can close the door easily if you crack the windows open then that is normal. Mine does that. Have to close with a little more effort

    1-3 are warranty issues

4 is on you, as it was discoverable on your test drives.

I looked at the Ridgeline but didn't need the Honda's additional 121 hp, 1,500lb higher towing capacity or greater cargo capacity. The Honda was also $10k more. I'll hit up the dealer and see what they do about these minor issues.

None of those are related to break in.

^^ That’s only after putting a CAI on the Ridgeline.

Ditto on the doors, they need a good slam, this is all I noticed thus far.

I’d really like to meet the person who spent the time and money to do this.

Sounds like the doors need adjustment. Did you give the dealer service department a chance to address this yet?
