I know this has been discussed prior on the thread but this morning I went out to start my 17 Tacoma TRD OR with 13995 miles and it took two tries plus a little gas to get it turned over. Once it fired up it ran rough and the trac off, check engine and low tire pressure light kicked on. Called the dealership but there closed today. Anyone have thoughts?

I’d look for some rodent damage. Seems odd that overnight it’d be a mechanical failure.

It’s worth noting that gas cap was a little loose would that still cause all 3 lights to come on

Morning temp? Could be something as simple as moisture in the fuel. Tons of other possibilities though.

Maybe, should I bring to the dealer or unplug the battery and see if the indicators come back on?

If it’s under warranty, I’d take it to the dealer. Get your moneys worth and peace of mind at the same time.

Update: spoke with Prime Toyota Saco Maine, they advised me to drive the truck till Friday to see if lights turn off. So far TPMS has turned off which makes me think it’s unrelated to other issue. Drove the truck to the office today and lights are still on, also cruise control won’t turn on.

This would be my first guess. Fingers crossed that’s not the cause because it won’t be covered under warranty. Good luck OP!

Is the oil fill cap on tight? That caused me a problem once!

Yes i remember reading that some wires have a soy based coating for some reason and the critters seem to enjoy them.

God I really hope that isn’t the case. I’m really thinking at this point it’s just the cap being loose since the TPMS is off now. The tech I spoke to said it’s common for the Check Engine and Traction control to come on.

Could check the codes or take it to an auto parts store and get then read.
