Paying the $200 does suck, but the paper work/e-file isn't as bad as people make it out to be.
You can transport them outta state, just have to file some paper work and then that paperwork is good for a year.
When the time comes they are transferred via form 5 and its tax free.
I have a SBRed lower, but with braces these days ,I wouldn't bother with another one unless the brace laws change. I get some people need them to be SBRs for some hunting and competition purpose though.

Just look at the build thread
I plan to go with an SBR because I dont trust the ATF's back and forth on shouldering pistol braces and I prefer to not be a test case or have an example made of me. Taking it across state lines is no big deal for me. The only time I see myself taking a rifle across state lines would be for hunting and that's not something I would take an SBR for anyway. Have plenty of other rifles to use for hunting. The $200 tax stamp does suck but you gotta pay to play.

I plan to take the EVO through the SBR process. The brace is fine but, the comfort of a full stock will be nicer. Not to mention, all it takes is a bit of pen work to reverse the view of shouldering a brace back to being an unlicensed sbr.
Lawyer written trust ($500) to include NFA, and non-nfa will make transferring easier when I go cold.
As for forward grips, the Diamondback is the most comfortable I have found. Combined with a thumb stop, and I love it enough that it will stay when I get a stamp.

But, my purchase in the last 48hrs is renew my NRA subscription.

I have heard this before I used a mock up at the LGS with multiple mounts with the gun a few weeks back I will need something in the 1.50 and 1.60 eye center for full picture in the scope at maximum magnification.

The 200 and 6+ months of waiting are do able and I do it already with surpressors. The part I hate is for very little gainvyou have to deal with all the regulation. While I don’t tend to sell my guns I also don’t like adding the atf in as that pushes off buys inexperienced with atf forms. State lines is a little important with some of the two gun matches where I do use a pistol at times however most of the time it’s a 14.7 pinned. To me it’s just added hassle but if they do change and go back on braces then I will be doing some sbr paperwork. The only thing in my view the sbr gives me is VFG as I prefer them to AFG. Outside of that and a good brace like the tail hook I don’t see any down sides for what I use it as.

I like the GOA and donate, but the big guy on the block is still the NRA and I keep my membership with them to try and change them. That said I am apart of the GOA and two local organizations. If I donate it goes to them. NRA just gets my 5 yr renewal until I see change.

It works, although these days I think unless you want someone else to use it on their own going in as a individual is easier then a trust. Just my thoughts. LEO notification only not sign off now. That way everyone on it doesn’t have to be finger printed everytime a new purchase is made.

Yes, it's easier to just do individual now, no need for a trust. If you kick the bucket, relatives can transfer your stuff tax free via Form 5.
