I noticed a fluid leak just below my passenger side LCA. I think it's my Icon coilovers...what do you guys think?

There's no fluid from what I can tell above the lower portion of the coilovers. The fluid is oily. Thanks.

Just sell em and go kings or fox or something else. Not sure what the icon appeal is if this is just another common case of a leaking coilover :notsure:

Most likely leaking at the shaft seal. Mine looked similar at 50k. Simple rebuild will fix that. Not a huge deal. Unless they’re new, in which case the rebuild should be covered under warranty, but you pay shipping one way.

Mine is leaking also, I’m so pissed 5k miles at most with no aggressive off-road driving. I’m planning on buying a single spare to use while I get the original rebuilt.

Makes me feel pretty good about my R/C drop bracket lift and shocks, which a lot of people on here call junk. Been on my truck 18 months with no leaks no squeaks and just 1 Alignment. Yes, my truck sees a lot of off-road conditions during deer season which lasts 3 1/2 months.

Any shock/coilover is at risk of leaking, nothing is fool proof but unfortunately it does seem like Icons have more of a tendency to start leaking that most other brands in the same category. If you do a bit of looking just on this website alone, it points pretty clearly to that.

That said, I have rear Icons (2.0 remote resi) and have run them pretty hard for a year now and no issues with them at all *knock on wood*

Very true. I've seen personally Kings, Fox and Icon all fall victim to poor quality control, but I've also seen all 3 companies take care of their customers (when it's a warranty issue). I've had my Icons for over 5 years now and not had any issues since I installed them. A small shaft leak at 50K was normal indication that a rebuild was due. Icon tech support didn't want to give me an exact figure for how often they are supposed to be rebuilt, but when I told them I had 50K they seemed surprised and said, "Wow! That's pretty good!" Research elsewhere told me that about 30k is average for most rebuildable shock's rebuild cycles. Obviously it depends on how you run your junk.
