Anyone know where I can get a fsm? Theres a lot of different answers about what the leaf spring u bolts should be torqued down to. Id like to see it in writing and finally get a straight answer.

thanks brotha. This is the one I looked at earlier. Assuming nothing changed as far as torque specs go from 16 to 19. but was hoping to double check as a lot of guys have different ideas of what the bolts should be torqued to.

Let me try to clear up some confusion.

    The 3rd gen spec is 52 ft/lbs.

    I started the U-bolt thread on 10/25/15.
The 3rd Gen FSM that is in circulation was downloaded on 11/13/15.

I used what has become the common accepted spec for 2nd Gen Tacomas; 73 ft/lbs. It actually spec's 37 ft/lbs in the 2nd gen FSM and is thought to be a typo.

Depending on size, thread, grade, plating, lube, etc...52 ft/lbs is reasonable for the 3rd gen. Most u-bolt charts for a 1/2"-20, Grade 5, zinc coated, dry thread is 52-65 ft/lbs.
The 2nd Gen 37 ft/lb spec was just retarded.

I do 65ft/lbs on the 2nd gen recall springs and 3rd gen lifts. But it's "feel" for me. Over tighten is bad and under tight is bad.

The issue is you are stretching the bolt and sometimes the wrench can click early, so if you do 52ftlbs, make sure to drive it and retorque it again. I've tried 52 and it doesn't feel right.
