I have had Michelin tires on all my vehicles for the last 40 years. The dependability, quiet ride, improved fuel economy and most important, traction in rain & snow make it worth the money to me. YMMV

I'm 99% highway too. My last Taco and my wife's 4runner both have LTX. It's a great tire, especially in the rain.

Good decision. Very good tire. USA made

I’m running these right now. Tires are 39lbs apiece 255/75/17 Hankook Dynapro ATM.

In my case, my yearly mileage is low. I am on month 27 with my 4Runner and just turned 20k miles. The Dunlops on it would likely last me another three years.

So basically you are asking some people to wait 5 years.

I’m either gonna put new rubber on it next year, or sell it and buy another Tacoma.

I have other vehicles, hence the miles are spread around.

Honestly I don’t think people switching to specifically Michelin LTXs are doing it just to save a few mpgs. I switched immediately to those tires on a few vehicles simply because they were superior to many tires. Unless you are doing serious off-roading...

I traded out my Falken Wildpeaks for the Dynapro's. The Wildpeaks would not balance, took it back 5 times, multiple technicians tried, zero luck. Got fed up and asked for a reimbursement for the Falkens and discount did so for customer dissatisfaction. Night and day difference with the Dynapro's, zero vibration, also can tell the weight difference.

You couldn’t be more right. The Falkens I had in this pic were nice as a tire I could beat up (6-ply), but even with these Hankooks I have confidence. They drive awesome and my commute avg is 19.5mpg.

I keep my stock OR rims as a second set for future beater tires.

Not asking anyone to do anything, just trying to understand the financial side of it.
In the past I had multiple cars a motorcycle and project truck and I’ve done winter/summer tires mounted on separate wheels for the cars so I’m no stranger to spending money for different tires. I just didn’t understand the financial side of removing them early. I never considered selling or having the dealer swap them. Now I’ll start looking for low mileage take offs!

I think I’ll change the Ltx ms2 for ltx AT when they wear out... I have now 35k on them but I’m almost sure I’ll put 35k more on them so that will happen in about 3 more years... don’t have the money to swap because I want...

I have the defenders and there very quiet and comfortable as for off-road use you can use them on dry dirt road they don't work well in mud no traction what so ever

    They call those “skinnies”?

What is the advantage of that size over 265/70/17?
