Both are great bumpers, quite similar. I had the same decision to make. What swayed me towards the SSO bumper where the lines. A bit more subtle on the angles which In my opinion flows more seamlessly into the lines of the oem bumper. Since it's a hybrid bumper, this was important to me. I wanted something that looks like it was meant to be there to begin with. Nothing wrong with the C4 Fab bumper, the angles are just a bit more "squared off". In the end, it boils down to preference and which look you prefer. Both will get the job done, add function, improve the look of the truck. Hope that helps.

    thanks i really appreciate that!
i had a lot of the same thoughts.

1 thing is i like the more aggressive angled/higher bar on the c4.
    so i'm stuck right now.

Whichever you decide to go with, you will not be disappointed. If you honestly can't decide, get more information to help you make a decision. Contact both vendors as far as any differences in price and current lead time. If those things are important, it may help to sway you one way or the other. Also, SSO gives you the option to have the bumper powder coated before shipping. Looking at their website, looks like C4 ships bare so you would need to have it coated/painted/lined on your own or by a local shop. Not sure if that matters to you.

I can't vouch for the customer service of the C4 folks (I'm sure they're great), but I've been very happy with the communication with SSO. There were a couple set backs during the build where they could have just continued with business as normal, but they chose to step up and insure that everything went smoothly. To me, if there's a tough choice to make, good customer service always tends to win me over.

And I agree with BCJake; both bumpers look great and I'm sure perform equally, but the SSO design just seemed to blend with the lines of the truck better, IMHO.

Traded in the last one, going to start modifying this soon.
What's the fit on 2017 model? I haven't been around Toyota long enough to know if they made any front bumper changes between 2016 and 2017 model years.

We've had several people ask about this especially if you're getting the TRD skid plate. The oem front bumper for the 2016 & 2017 are the same where it matters for our bumper. No problem with the fit.

Wow. Your fabrication is super tasteful. I appreciate how subdued your design is…gonna check your site.

Planning to install this weekend... Any idea how long it'll take to install? Just want a rough estimate so I can set aside that time. Thanks!

A couple hours. Of which 1 hour will be spent measuring 6 times and cutting once.

Just now discovered your hybrid bumper for the 12-15. Seriously considering this over a full plate bumper

Will this bumper work with my Cali Raised 30" lightbar behind the grill currently? Meaning, will anything interfere with that? It should still be functional, meaning it should still throw light through the opening between the bumper and the push bar on the top. I just didn't know if anyone has had difficulties with this.

I'd love to hear from someone that has a light in the lower grill, AND used this bumper. Like seen in this picture.

Love what you guys did to your 4Runner!!
Any chance the trim on the corners of the front bumper will be available for Tacoma’s too?
