2UZ is fine, lasts a long time, just don't boost it. It has very weak rods, leave it stock and it'll tick along forever like the 5VZ

I've heard that lights only need to be covered if they're above the height of your factory headlights...so ditch lights and roof lights mostly. I'm not 100% on that but it's what I've been told. I've seen light bar covers but yeah most people don't run them

You said it in your post.... shitty. You get what you pay for with those cheap ones. It's the low grade generic inductors that make the noise.

Easy to fix if you know what an inductor looks like. Open it up, find the inductor, smash it with a hammer, then go buy a name brand one.

Or just spend the extra $5 on a nice Anker charger with multiple taps so you can charge all the things at once

Agreed, I like Anker, I have a bunch of Anker products. USB chargers are inexpensive, I never understood why people buy the generic ones unless you were out somewhere & had no choice but to buy one from a gas station.

Noisey electronics is a peeve of mine. I've potted inductors to help reduce the noise but it doesn't always work. I also dislike the other noise cause by electronics as in interference. My damn Milwaukee M18/M12 charger causes radio interference when charging a battery in my garage next to the radio. I'm surprised the Milwaukee does that. My Dewalt chargers never did that.

I have a couple chargers like that, that I cannot easily replace. You can rig up some large capacitors to plug in first and that can help

True that. Milwaukee is supposed to be a good brand so I expected better from them. I would expect it from a HF or a generic brand. But not Milwaukee. Other than that I've been really happy with all my Milwaukee stuff. Good thing I don't have to charge the batteries often.

Uncovered auxiliary lights is very much something you can be fined for here in CA. But it’s one of those laws where you won’t be cited for it unless the cop feels like writing you a ticket for it, or is looking for something to ticket you for.

I saw a 3rd Gen 4Runner that had glass headlights. The late 90’s Sienna I was working on had glass headlights too.

    Unless you mean something else.

There is an LX470 at the Newark Pick-n-Pull. Funny how it’s more stripped than that 1990’s Land Cruiser that’s identical to @Speedytech7 ’s LC.

It's the CHP, you're getting a ticket, that's just how they work. They don't pull you over to warn you

Like @zero4, they’re cheap. Cheap indicators, cheap capacitors, cheap coils, cheap blah blah blah. Don’t cheap out on anything that supplies power, especially computer power supplies.

I have this cool Nixie Tube clock with neon display tubes manufactured in the Soviet Union. I bought the control board from this “indie” website and it had this god awful whining noise for the two years I owned it. I bought their newer version with solid state components (I forget what, something with the inductors) and it was silent.
