I’ve had my 2003 double cab for about a year now and am growing incredibly attached to this truck. Been lurking on Tacomaworld for months now and figured it was time to jump in on the action! I’m definitly going to be digging into some mods more and more but here she is mostly stock. 2003 Doublecab TRD 4x4 Limited. 113k Miles. Black Sand Pearl with tan Interior:

    Welcome!

I would save the money and do a nice full suspension lift first. That is a good foundation to start off with for street or off road. Sliders would be my next step if you plan to go off road or just to have a nice sturdy step and door ding protector :)

Welcome officially to the party. Its not hard to become attached to these trucks since they handle a lot stock. Good luck with your future endeavors.

    Welcome to TW!!

Such a clean little truck man with low miles, I would almost be thinking to keep it the way it is if I were you. Just too much of a beauty. First mod should be a 3 inch OME lift with some 285/70/17's!

Got a suggestion on where to begin with the lift? I’d love to keep running 16” wheels and maybe a 265/75 versus the stock 265/70s. Don’t want to lift it too high maybe 2-2.5 inches?. Here’s my problem: currently the truck sits one inch lower in the front than the rear. The rear leaf springs are toast. They have neg arch for sure. The whole truck is on stock suspension. Do I get new springs, shocks and coils all around?

I’m running the full OME kit with 883 springs in the front and the leaf pack in the back. That will give you 2-2.5” lift if you have armor like me. I hear people say you’ll get closer to 3” with the 883 with the stock front bumper. I’m also able to fit 33” tires with a simple pinch weld mod and caster alignment. I have a little rake in the back too which is normal and something you would want if you haul stuff, have armor in the back, bed rack, rtt etc. At first I thought the same about the rake, but if it’s leveled any weight you put back there will cause your front to be higher.

I’m actually talking to a local fab shop on a bed rack that will probably be install sometime the beginning of next year, hopefully. I’m also hoping it won’t level out my truck because I’ll be adding more weight to the back. Worst case I can get the add a leaf for the OME leaf pack.
