Why couldn’t we use a simple switch to disrupt the ground and control of the “Raptor” lights will be with a switch in the dash ?

Ostensibly this could work. I mean, I think it would be good to still have a fuse especially since it sounds to me like this way of having it set up would have the lights hooked up to power all of the time. Personally, I'd rather have the switch ran off a relay so that it's not drawing parasitic power, or so that there's no risk for it building any charge that may be released as heat or static shock.

But I bet it could work! I think that's a great idea!

I currently have the power wire installed in the fuse box for the right headlight... I’m going to tap into either a tail light or front running light ... with an in-line fuse

Or maybe use power from fog lights

I’m going to see how many amps the runnin4tacos 4 light draws first

My thought is to get the raptors working independent of the headlights

I also don’t want something to go wrong and only have one headlight working

    Current setup

Installed my raptor lights today. They look great but not as secure as I'd like. I've tried multiple times to secure them, but the center one isn't as tight as I'd like. Plan is to head to Home Depot tomorrow and grab some Gorilla Glue and glue them in. Other than that, great birthday present from the wife!

i would think if you tap into the ignition ckt, lights would be on with you start engine and go out when you turn off ignition......is that what you are wanting to do

If you use that type of glue how will you replace one when it fails?

I want to be able to turn them off with the switch I install in the dash ... but looking at the wiring diagram I might use the DRL yellow wire 10amp or the beige wire at the headlight assembly. It has to stop raining for 5 minutes before I go and look at it. I’m guessing the beige wire

    That should make it easy

    Although I’ve been wrong before

Aftermarket. Some eBay seller...not sure what mold they used.

    I'm hoping they won't fail...if they do, that's future me's problem ;)

the one i am looking at is from running4taco.com....they are about $150, but has a module of letters that screw into the grill....it appears to be a piece and does not have any tape or glue......the one from mad hornet appears to be the same but read some bad review on him....running4taco has good install video as well and sells the raptor lights too

The grill I have has the same attachment points for the "TOYOTA" section. Screwed in using 4 screws into the main grill. I think there are differences between each aftermarket grill, but they're all close enough to work well.

Were you able to figure this out? Just got mine installed today and wanting them to power with DRL strip. Right now they’re with the headlights only with an add-a-fuse on the 10A in the fuse box.

Long term goal would be to get blinkers, raptors, DRLs, and fogs to all be on (thinking on the parking setting), but I need to get a lot smarter with wiring diagrams before that happens.
