Oh... and the armor and weapons look unreal. I was lucky and got a high level armor set since I stream on Twitch and linked my Twitch account for the free armor. Every month Twitch gives out free items in the game.

I’ll say that game looks super confusing. I watched a couple videos and they all said even after years of playing it’s still
confusing. It’s off it’s pretty old so I almost gave up right away. But it actually looks pretty cool after seeing some game play.

Think if you started out as a low peasant like the rest of us you’d feel the same?

It is super confusing no doubt. I've had to look up a bunch of things on the web and youtube just to see what the fuck I'm supposed to be doing. But there are some good videos out there that kind of guide you along from the beginning. The game is super fast paced and it looks amazing.

As far as starting out... I just reached mastery rank 1. As far as the armor goes it is a little bit better than the starting armor that you would normally get but it isn't OP by any means. But it looks a fuck ton better than the armor you would normally start out with. Since I have a Twitch account I got it for free along with a sword and some credits. Each month you get something new for free from Twitch.
The mods that you put on the armor is what makes all the difference. And Jesus Christ there are hundreds of mods it seems. I'm not smart enough yet to know what's best so I just let the game auto select what it thinks are the best ones. I'll figure it out.

I was always kind of scared of this game because I thought it was pay to win. And it is if you want to throw a bunch of money at it. But I don't see why you would since everything that you can buy you can earn in the game. To me that's what makes the game fun is trying to get the armor and weapons you want. The hunt is the fun part to me. I've got a rifle in the foundry right now that still has about 22hrs before it is done. I like that mechanic. You know what your going to get and there is no RNG applied to it at all.

The fast pace of the game and the fluid controls are over the top. I didn't realize how good this game looks and plays. I'm glad I downloaded it. It will definitely keep my interest until Anthem comes out. And if Anthem sucks (I don't think it will) I'll just go back to Warframe. It has so many MMO qualities that I really like. Like I said... Bungie could learn a thing or two from this game. Being able to craft your own weapons and armor is the shit. Looking for the pieces of those items so you can craft them is genius.

Each planet is kind of set up like Destiny but with quests that you go directly to on each planet. You have to clear all the quests on Earth before you can go to Venus and so on. Before you go to Venus you have to fight a boss after you finish all the quests on a specific planet. The one on Earth wasn't too hard as you can imagine since it's just the start of the game and it's teaching you what to do. Venus will be a little bit harder and so on.

This is just one of the open areas in the game. It is an extremely hostile place since I'm level 1 and there are level 50 adds roaming around. But I picked up a bounty that was level 8 and thought I'd try it. It was a three part bounty and I got it done. I did die twice though lol. A level 1 fighting level 8 adds and bosses isn't as easy as it looks lol.

Here's what it looks like and how it plays

*EDIT* I play with a Scuff Controller. I've no idea how you could play with a regular controller since your bullet jump is mapped to the L1 + the X button on the PS4 controller. My paddle underneath is mapped to the X button on the left side of the controller.

PS4. But I'm going to tell you right now... It is a very difficult game to get your head around. It's not like Destiny at all. It is a VERY deep game that has a lot of MMO qualities to it. You will be on the computer a lot trying to figure out where things drop so you can create things in the game. You might like it but be prepared to do a lot of work and research. It also controls completely differently than Destiny. Each Warframe has its own moves and abilities and if you aren't playing with a Scuff controller I really don't know how easy the controls would be. It's not undoable I guess but it's much easier with a Scuff.

I didn't figure it would. It's more like the MMO's I used to play. It is a very deep game and a lot of grinding (which I don't mind). But there are so many things to learn and so many ways to build your character. So I really like it.

So Destiny could learn a lot from Warframe. I'm certainly not saying that it has to be this in depth but the sheer amount of customization that is allowed in this game is unreal. Letting you craft your own weapons and armor is genius. Telling you exactly where the items drop is exactly what any good MMO does.

This is the best part to me. Once you finish the quest, if you are in a fireteam, all of of the people in the fireteam share whatever drops at the end. This happens especially with relic runs (won't get into what that means). When you finish the quest each individual person has specific drops that come from that relic. All the drops show up on the screen so if I happen to not get that specific drop but someone else does I can choose that drop from that person and they still keep that item. So I basically get a copy of that drop and it is mine to keep. Same thing happens with the other players in the fireteam. They can choose something that dropped for me and they get that item but I also keep that item. That is a fucking amazing way to make sure the players are happy and get the loot that they need. Once you have all the materials you need you can craft that specific item. Then... you can start putting the mods on it to make it your own. After playing this for just a few days I can honestly say fuck off to Destiny. Destiny is so fucking shallow compared to this. Giving the player control over how to progress their character and not rely completely on RNG is the best thing I've seen since I played MMO's. And it's a free fucking game??? You never have to spend one dime in it if you don't want too. But I can already tell that I will just to support this game. It's that good.

The armor / weapon sets look amazing

And this is only about 1/3 of the mods I have so far. Each mod changes the way the character plays.

One more thing on the mod system. You can set up to three different mod loadouts (for lack of a better word) depending on what you are fighting. There are different mods that do more damage or take less damage from a specific type of enemy in the game. So you can set your mods then choose which loadout you want for that specific encounter. Fucking brilliant system.

Oh... and you have four supers you can use that you can change on the fly while playing.

Right there with ya. The content we are going to get for this next year is sparse and uninspired. I'm just sick of the ups and downs of Destiny. At times it's at the top of it's game but more often than not it's subpar and I've personally had enough of the bullshit. Other than Forsaken D2 has been a total failure.

I've found a new home with Warframe. I had shied away from this game for a long time because I thought it was 1: Pay to win and 2: Way to complicated. Well... I was wrong on both accounts. Turns out, this is the game that Destiny should have been. I won't lie and say that there is a very steep learning curve and the game does not hold your hand once you get out of the first couple of missions. But it also doesn't insult the player by holding your hand over the course of leveling up. Digital Extremes is the most player focused game company I've ever seen which is rare these days. All the content in the game is free. They do not push you to buy anything and everything that they sell in the game is obtainable within the game so you never have to spend a dime on the game. If you do decide that you want to buy something in the game it isn't hidden behind a loot box where you are basically gambling to get what you might want. If you see something in the game that you want to actually spend money on you can buy that item directly and know exactly what you are going to get. It is completely free to play and looks and controls better than Destiny ever did (once you get the controls down). It's the MMO that I was looking for Destiny to be. I you aren't playing Warframe... you should be. Destiny can't hold a candle to this game.

I've already preordered Anthem and I'm looking forward to playing it. I hope it's a good game and I think they are going in the right direction. But... I still have my reservations about Anthem and EA. Time will tell how Anthem plays out. If it isn't what I expect it to be I now have a fall back game that is damn near perfect.

This video pretty much explains it all. Pay close attention to lesson 4

Yup... If you aren't playing Warframe you are missing out on one of the best games to date. Like I said before, this is the direction Bungie should have taken.

This is a video of a Relic Farm. Relics are items you take into specific missions and you are guaranteed a specific item out of the relic once you finish it. Now I've got the blueprint for a weapon and I just farm the items needed to make that weapon. Absolutely no RNG involved. That is a breath of fresh air considering I've only gotten 3 new exotics since Sept. 4th out of Destiny.

    Destiny can suck a dick.

Yeah... Fuck Destiny. I'm so sick of the ups and downs of that game. I hate it in a way because I spent more than four years in that game. But it just isn't going in the direction that is anyway meaningful this next year. There is so little content coming out now that it is worse than when we only got large expansions in D1 each year. At the very least they would throw some things in the game to keep you coming back. PoE was the worst time for D1 and I almost left the game during that time. But then TTK came out and it was amazing like Forsaken was. But now they have completely shelved Forsaken and went down a path of mini updates that don't amount to anything. They had this gigantic area that they could expand upon and it was amazing. But they just threw it away in favor of some bullshit. As I said before... Throwing balls at a forge is boring as fuck. And that's all there is to do in the game now with the exception of a shitty raid lair. If you play Destiny, you won't have anything to do until February but just that. Then in February it will be centered around Gambit. And I've got to agree with @4x4Runner. Anything that is centered around one type of gameplay is going to suck. And it seems that is pretty much what it's going to be from February until June. A buddy of mine sent me a picture of a shotgun he got out of the Forge and told me that it's better than the EP shotgun. I told him that "it could have a perk on that called "set the world on fire" and I don't give a fuck". That's how much I hate this game at the moment.

The reason for the direction that Bungie have taken is Activision. Activision has completely fucked Bungie up with this game. I think the earnings call back in Oct. pissed off Activision and they specifically told Bungie that they wanted more players to play the game. Well that didn't work. People are leaving this game in droves now. There is a reason that IGN gave it a 5.5. It sucks that bad.

I finally tried out Warframe and I see what all the hype is about. It is one of the best games that I've played in a long time run by a developer that actually cares about it's players. They aren't afraid to try new things and if it doesn't work and needs a rework the player base will voice their displeasure and DE will fix it. The player base is willing to stand behind that game because the DE is quick to fix whatever the issue is. It's a model of how a free to play game should be. They don't throw the shit in your face. You can earn everything in game without spending a dime on it. You can even trade with other players for the currency that is used to buy things in the in game market. You can also use the credits you earn in game to buy the blueprints for specific weapons / armor instead of actually buying that item. They do this because 1: The game is so fucking good and 2: They know that you will most likely spend some money on it just to support the game and the developer. I'm more than willing to spend some money on in game items just to support the people that make the game. The reason for that is called "trust". Once you earn the trust of your player base, they will support you all the way.

I'm still going to play Anthem when it comes out. I've already paid for it so there's that. I hope it turns out to be a good game that will keep me playing for a long time. I know Bioware is trying very hard with this game and they are being very transparent about it. That is a good sign. But if it turns out to be shit I've got a game to fall back on called Warframe.

Man I need to check the news on this stuff. I mean D has had shit reviews on their expansions all the time and largely due to the big man (activision) that has been doing crap behind the scenes. Im not surprised with activision as Im sure they are growing tired of this up and down function that bungie has done in order to keep D relevant up until now. Funny you bring up POE as man thats when I cut ties as to me the grind was just pointless by then. Any chance any of the new content will get you motivated or is def looking to be done for sure?

Im glad to hear about anthem as I stopped following it a while back when they first were starting to have their problems with keeping devs. I would love for anthem to take the mantle that D has been sitting on and show activision and bungie how a good execution of this genre can be obtained. At the same time, man I have so little trust in Bungie these days by all the bullshit tactics they have played through out this game in the past four years. I wish they just retired after halo or something.

There is a very big downside to leaving Destiny though. My clan. Most are in the same place that I am with the game but they are unwilling to move on because it's familiar and what they have been playing for a very long time. It's like comfort food. You know it and the core mechanics are good. I've tried to get my friends to try Warframe but I just can't convince them how good the game actually is. I've got one friend that says he tried it and it's the most grindiest game he has ever played. My response to that was "what do you think your doing in Destiny?" "Most of us have only got maybe 3 new exotics since the game came out?" Playing the RNG game is fucking stupid when there is a game out there that you can actually figure out where something drops, who it drops from, and where to get the materials to build that specific item. It takes RNG out of the equation. So I dunno what I'm going to do in the clan. I've made some really good friends by playing Destiny but I've moved on and they are stuck playing a shitty game because it's what they know.

Warframe is not for everyone. I'll be the first to admit that. It is a true MMO shooter / looter in every sense of the word. I've played MMO's since the first Everquest came out. I've played most every MMO to date so I know how they work and what all is involved so I'm comfortable with that. I played LotRO for well over 4 years and made some really good friends in that game and we had a fucking blast playing. It will always be the best game that I ever played with friends. But as the content and the game changed to a free to play model the game suffered greatly and slowly people started leaving the game. And then it was over.

I suppose it will be the same way with Destiny. I've got two really good friends that I'll always be friends with. One of them we actually exchange gifts for our kids birthday and Christmas. We stay in contact everyday. He has actually downloaded Warframe but my other friend refuses to play it and I've got a feeling that he's telling him not to play it because of his impression of the game. So, that leaves me with making new friends in Warframe. You have to have people to play with in that game and you have to have people that know what they are doing to help you along with your progress because it is a very deep game. So... that's where I stand at the moment. Time will tell if others will play or switch to Anthem when it comes out.

That is really cool how games that can entertain us and require so much time dedication can create long lasting friendships out of it. I used to have friends similar to that with Halo back in the day. I remember it was hard to let go of destiny because of how long I was commited already into the grind knowing I was throwing it all away...which would happen whenever the game eventually phased anyway. I hope they can move on as nothing is worse then praying for that 1% of the game to drop for you while you spend days/weeks just hoping for some sort of validation to time spent. Man that RNG pissed me off as I didnt get a gally in D1 until they let you buy it just before they nerfed it like crazy. I couldnt believe how many of my friends got it and I never did. At the same time, I had to run and gun and be better for it so maybe in a way it worked out for the better? Dude I only played LOTRO for the free 30 hours or whatever, but man that game took so much of my time so fast. I really enjoyed the side quests to the main story and stuff, for some reason it really captivated me, but I had to write that off cause damn I wasnt doing much else.

Nah... I don't think anything can pull me back into Destiny now. I'm sick of the game and the direction it's going. I've put up with a lot of shit from Bungie in the hopes that they will create something amazing. Destiny 2 year one was a complete and utter flop. But then Forsaken came out and it was fucking amazing. Then they dropped anything Forsaken related and now you just throw balls over and over. The roadmap they have laid out for the next year is pointless. I seriously think that Destiny is done after this next year. Activision has fucked everything up. All of the streamers have left the game and there are only a few that are actually covering the game now. Once you lose the trust of your player base it's over. I'm a prime example of that.

I hope that Anthem is good. The problem with Anthem is twofold. 1: It's being published by EA which has a worse reputation than Activision. 2: It's coming into the shooter / looter space very late in the game. It's been in production since 2012 and the top people from Bioware have been working on it. That is one reason that Mass Effect Andromeda sucked so bad. There was no one left from Bioware that created the original Mass Effect games. But I have hope for Anthem. It seems that they have been extremely transparent with the game and how it's going to work. Each week they put out a video of the game play with bugs and all. That in my opinion is being transparent. They want you to see the game and they aren't afraid if there are bugs in the alpha build. They just seem to roll with the punches because they WANT you to see the game.

I'm starting to agree with you about Bungie. Once they sold the Halo franchise to Microsoft they should have just quit. Destiny, as a whole, has been a flop. Sure there have been some stand out moments but those stand out moments seem to be few and far between. They tried to create something new and in the grand scheme of things... it just didn't work.
