How do I get my Samsung A8 phone to charge on the docking system?

 

If that phone is Qi wireless compatible set it on the pad and push the Qi button. If you have a case it may not work, also you will have to move the phone to the sweet spot. Mine is all the way forward and all the way to the left.

 

I just did a Google search and it says that phone is not Qi compatible. There is, however, a kit you can buy to turn it into wireless charging. It's basically a pad that sticks to back of your phone and plugs into the charger port of the phone.

I bought this for my iPhone 7 (it goes under the case) and it works great. There is probably something similar for the Samsung.

The Qi charger in these trucks is absolutely worthless. Takes forever to charge 5% and the phone gets extremely hot

 

Mine works great.

 

Mine works fine. I use it when driving all the time. My S8+ works well with it. It does get toasty though.

 

Maybe I’ve got a bad one then. But I’ve read several posts of people have the same issues

 

My old S4 and now J7 with the above adapter work just fine in the Qi charger. The J7 is in a jelly case and the S4 was naked. Yes it warmed up but the phones still work fine after 3 years of daily charging in the truck.

 

Maybe mine just doesn’t work as it should. My wife and I both have iPhone 10. I have a silicone case and she has no case. It took both phones about an hour to charge maybe 5 or 6%. I just use a cable to charge it now. No big deal

 

I dont need a top of the line smart phone to get by in daily life, my phones charge too.

Try one of these, it's similar to what I use for my J7 and a jelly case over the phone it will work just fine.

I also use an add-on receiver on my old S4. It works (slowly) but can get warm.
