Anti-Millennial theft device sticker and a 'yours may be fast but mine goes further'...you know, those snarky bumper stickers that jeep guys love

I might not even put them on but at this point I'm just peeved that I paid for something I didn't get lol.

Yeah it's well worth it IMO. AAA insurance is expensive for me. I have Mercury & it's cheaper but I've been with them for a long time. My lil brother switched to einsurance, really cheap but it's one of those online insurance companies that goes through allstate so no local offices. I think I might switch over when my policy is up.

yeah I have Esurance currently, they've been alright but I haven't had to use them for anything, claim or otherwise. Aside from jacking my rates up once for no reason but they lowered them back down (even lower than originally) a little while later...dunno what that was about but USAA quoted me an even cheaper rate for better coverage. But you have to have an immediate family member in the military or be married to someone that has USAA to qualify...wife's grandfather was a marine so she's had it for some time now.

Oh nice. My mom got hit by a Lyft driver. My brother owns the car & it was insured by esurance, no problem whatsoever getting it fixed.

yeah they were the cheapest quote I could find at the time. I forget what it is I'm paying now but I think it's $115/month for basic (full) coverage, and a freakin' $1000 deductible. USAA can get me the same coverage with aftermarket parts coverage and a cheaper deductible for under $100/month, so they've said.

Once my truck is no longer my DD I'll get an even cheaper plan for it, but I drive it too much right now to risk not having really good coverage.

I pay $220 every 2 months with Mercury for full coverage. Used to be $168 every 2 months but their rates went up. I hope esurance is cheaper. But then again you have a 4x4 so rates are higher.

I guess so, I could never find a definitive answer on that but I have a clean record with no accident claims or tickets in the past several years...and I'm not a 20-something year old male (statistical liability) so the fact that it's 4x4 is the only reason I can think of.

Also they think I only drive it 1/3 of the miles that I actually do, and they always threaten to raise my rates if I don't tell them what my mileage is but my father works in the insurance industry and tells me that they can't legally raise your rates for that, even though insurance companies love to threaten it...so I never tell them. They've only ever raised it on me that one time but then it went back down even lower so who knows.

Wtf that's good to know man, I always worry about that 'low mileage' requirement for the lower rate. Cool.

I'll have to ask him about it again, I'll ask my brother too since he works for Geico, but yeah I remember him telling me that back when I was getting quotes. And I've had them for almost 3 years and have never revealed my actual mileage, just an 'estimate' for the year that's always way lower than it will be...but in reality, how are any of us supposed to know exactly how much we'll be driving in a year lol.

That said, I've never had to make a claim so who knows...maybe if I do have to *knock on wood* and they do the math on the mileage they might find some reason to jack up the rates. Insurance companies are evil like that, unfortunately they're a necessary evil but still.

Good point, never thought about that. Mercury used to ask me for mileage updates & I always ignored them. I know I did get a discount for low mileage. I need to check my policy to see if I'm still getting that discount. Maybe that's why it went up. I figured it was just inflation.

If anything I should be getting a discount for 'high annual mileage and no accidents/claims', since that proves I'm less of a liability than those that drive less than I do but do have claims, lol.

Just checked my policy, shows I'm still get the low mileage discount as well as discounts for good driving record & persistancy member. My policy is up in Feb so I'll be checking out esurance.

I thought about it, and I should’ve have done that instead. About the same price. The towing is nice.

Yup, only downside if I remember correctly is for driver's license renewals & related you still have to go to DMV. 3rd party DMV services can't do those. Like I'm about to apply for that new Real Licence & AAA can't do those.

Wait, they have AAA up there? I always though AAA was for SoCal only? Down here AAA is Automobile Club of Southern California.

No towing for me, it's not worth it.

When you need a tow, you call your insurance company, you get a robo operator, then you get a person and then they choose the cheapest tow company in your area. It's never the closest tow company.

Is it? Shows how much I know about them. Lol. Never made sense to me that AAA would only be for SoCal but I always see this logo down here. I always though that my AAA would be useless if I was up at Pismo or something. Well it would be as they won't go out into the dunes or on an offroad trail.

AAA stands for American Automobile Association :gossip:

You're just referring to the SoCal branch :p
