Best shop for Regearing to 5.29s

Who's done it? How much? Why should I use _____ shop?

5.29s are amazing. I am on stockish tire size still as I am running some Blizzaks for the winter but on the 35s they were awesome, truck didnt even notice them. You are welcome to take my truck for a spin and see how you feel.

Brian @thefatkid is a super nice guy and does awesome work, I can't recommend him more highly!

I want gears still! Slee tried everything they could to talk me out of 5.29s. I want 5.29s!

 

why did they want to talk you out of 5.29s?

 

I guess they thought I didnt know what I was talking about. They were eager to sell me some 4.88s though.

I dont remember the exact price at the moment. But they said I could not bring them parts. They will only install parts purchased through them. Which I guess I kind of get.

They also kind of squawked when I asked about warranty. Seemed like if I use the gears, they are somehow not going to hold up as well.

 

Idk if it’s the best shop for 3rd gens, but I had ECGS regear my 1st gen to 4.56.

You can buy the regeared front/rear diffs online, you have to send your originals back though unless you want the core charge.

Slee was very offputting. They acted like they didn’t want to sell me the parts I was requesting. It was weird.

 

They either have a great or terrible rep. I have never dealt with them personally but I have heard more bad than good unless you own an early model LC

 

That was my exact takeaway. It seemed like he was trying to talk down to me because I knew what I wanted.
