    That configuration actually used to be run on some pre-smog (1976 and below) cars if I recall correctly. Eventually became outlawed because it was basically venting oil out onto the roads. I investigated running a setup like this a long time ago when I had my GTO and my findings came to show that it was not worth the cost benefits it could offer and it also under some instances cause more harm than good in the long run. I opted for a vacuum pump instead and it was nothing but a headache, and it stunk as well.

    PCV is convenient, but not the best setup in the world for producing max HP.

    A vacuum pump setup for this truck would be incredibly expensive and would definitely have to be built like a one off for sure, so as far as support goes you guys would be on your own if you ever ran it and had specific issues with it.

    One final thought is that the cost to HP benefit ratio as far as running one is concerned wouldn't net anything worth being of notability. Vacuum pump equipped vehicles are best run when utilizing low tension lightweight piston rings, that of which most race cars do, but by running those you bring on a whole new set of issues, including, but not limited to oil consumption issues. Infiniti G35's (both coupe and sedan models) and Pontiac GTO both suffered from these issues for running these type of rings.

    I'm trying to tap a 1/8" -27 npt for my intake. What I'm trying to thread in the hole wont fit but this is what it calls for. Is there metric AND sae for this size??

    Roost, I might have to reroute my boost gauge to the intake port to confirm if my assertions are correct....I probably won't, but I would like to confirm it none the less. Regarding the PCV on the driver's side, it flows one way into the plenum. I'm not entirely sure of the design of that valve, but the direction of flow is clear. My assumption is the seating spring pressure of the check valve is over come when the following occurs: the crank case pressures exceed the spring pressure and manifold Vacuum. So if you have high vacuum, like at idle/low rpm when the plenum will see around 22 in/hg, my assertion was that it might have enough of a draw to actually pull air through the engine. From one valve cover to other. Keeping the passenger side port open, without a check valve ensure the engine is not put under too high of vacuum if it was tight enough to hold.

    @Torspd, makes perfect sense for the needs of aftermarket turbo adaptation. Unfortunately, for those of us living in states with advanced emissions compliance, a breather system would be another system that would have to be swapped out for inspection purposes. I'm not even sure my sealed catch can system is really compliant, but I haven't been called out on it yet....

    Now curious to know how turbo cars address pcv in the modern era, do they just flow oil vapors through the turbo?

    Not blingy, it shouldn't catch their attention, and makes the vehicle more emissions friendly. Plus keeping a better air to fuel mixture. Less oil vapor.

    Roost, you could also, have a filter on the driver side valve cover. Passenger valve cover > can > angled entry into exhaust stream.

    The vent to atmosphere filter system, as I previously posted, will smell in the cab, on fresh air circulation. Unless you run a hose down, lower.

    Keep all the ponies happy, with either setup that I have presented.

    Agreed, pcv flows from drivers side valve cover to sc inlet.
    The pcv has a very light spring and ball check valve. It takes very little to offset it.
    I did actually route my boost gauge to the sc inlet to try to check vacuum at wot. It didnt work really well. I needed a more precise gauge.

    If I recall, I got the maggy SC + fit kit for $4500 minus BD tune. I don't think his other parts cost $1200...
