We have our forum discount (Code: BDForums) that saves 10% and gives the option for $5 shipping to the Lower 48.

Due to our pricing policies, we cannot offer an additional discount. Map policy only allows for 10% off MSRP.

The increased lumen counts are thanks to the recent availability of a more efficient driver. The former driver was the most efficient driver we could fit into the housing, but it had limitations in efficiency, causing current loss in the circuitry.

Though we continue to run power at 100% (3w), the newly released driver is more efficient than the previous version – effectively increasing the final lumen count.

The old value of 208 lumens accounted for current loss, but with the improvements in efficiency, the new value is at 400 lumens.

Very cool. Too bad these new ones won't fit in my housing. This is one single red one at 9V, talk about bright on the new ones!

Just finished getting caught up to speed on this thread and I was shooting for the BD third brake light, but after reading through the entire thread, @Taylor@KC HiLiTES has been more helpful throughout the whole build process and more involved than BD and with the fact that BD changed their design without notifying @mesojdm I think I’m going to go with the KC’s more lumens, half the price and more involved than BD and have more options IMO.

While BD changing the design is a bummer, they have no obligation to notify Meso of any change. Just lucky that it popped up sooner rather than later.

I don’t disagree, they made Meso an authorized retailer of their product so they can push product. It’s what any smart company would do. We will see what sort of “discounted” price the lights finally land at.

    Hey guys,
They are both great vendors and both make awesome lights... Which is why I made a version for both. Baja has nothing obligated to me, in fact I’m probably a little peon in their grand scheme of things. But in the end Taylor @ KC was super helpful, and engaging in this project which is why I decided to make that version first. Ended up working out because if I would have done the BD, there would have been a ton of people upset with a housing in hand that fits discontinued and unavailable lights.
The KC housings are launching this weekend. I wish I had the original 50Qty planned, but I’ll only have 30(printer issues, other projects, etc) the rest will follow. I just wanted to start Getting these out into the hands of members.

The price will be $115. But it will include everything from the gasket, threaded c clips, washers, bolts, and even the snap grommets to cover the exposed bolt heads. You just pick the color and combination lights that fit your setup :)
