Ah you're right I remember that...it was @FLBAdrian that also had a CB drop. His was a big one too. Man I feel like those little 1/2" spacers I just put on didn't do a damn thing lol.

Only thing I'd be worried about with a big drop like yours and his is that it lowers the driveshaft quite a bit making it more susceptible to getting damaged by rocks if you're on a tough trail. Same reason some people don't like the idea of a single piece driveshaft, less clearance.
Although I can see how it would virtually eliminate any chance of vibrations

Lol, I didn't even know those spacers existed. Do they make thicker spacers? I can make you thicker ones if you want.

Good point on the DS hanging lower but I don't have that issue & I've been fine all these yrs. I'm not a rock crawler, I can't anyway. Even if I could I doubt I would, I don't know anyone who's into that to go with.

We never go on trips with the intention of rock crawling but a lot of these hill climbs and river beds end up being just that even though most of the day was dirt roads and sight seeing

I can't anyway with this truck. All the guys I used to go out with were go fast desert guys from CT. I never ended up going LT so I stopped going with them. Maybe when I get a T4R but still I don't know that many people to go wheeling with. All my friends were racers.

Yeah that's usually how most of the best trails go in my experience...all kinds of terrain but the harder stuff ends up being rocky and/or steep.

Lol, yeah.... but I have this slight issue. When I look under my truck, it's missing those things that make my front wheels go round & round. They forgot to install them on my truck.

I'm not planning on selling this truck, maybe I'll convert it one day. But I have a feeling I may get a T4R before that happens.

Conversion would be pretty easy for a 1st gen as @BartMaster1234 can attest to, but yeah if you have the means I would keep your truck as the DD and get another 4x4 T4R as a toy

I converted my buddy that got me into the Z cars into an off-road guy too. We are both super technical dudes when it comes to car stuff, so we dorked each other into hobbies haha.

He went and bought the cheapest S10 he could find and we dropped a Camaro motor in it, shackle lifted the rear, rebuilt the carb, and put new t-bars and keys in the front in like two weeks and went and wheeled it. Only had to winch him once, and it was because his tires were ass. Now it's been SASd on Dana 60s from a dodge and he still uses it in the winter and as a parts hauler.

Can see my beater in the back and his in the front haha

Yup, luckily it is easy for 1st gens. But if I do convert it I would want J-shift with ADD. I don't want manual hubs but I know much easier to go with manual hubs.

ADD can be done, I have the spare electronic parts to make vacuum add work if you ever need them

I have a second battery mounted in the back corner of my bed, with a small inverter to run small power tools and such. I used an isolation solenoid. Charges when truck runs, inverter only runs on second battery, so can't discharge main battery.

I second ADD. Manual hubs suck. Granted, you dont have to get out and chip ice off of them in a snowstorm where you live, but I did with my 92 and it sucked. Now I just shift into 4wd from my heated cab and drive.

I usually had it locked in while snow was around and unlocked them when snow was gone. But mine also never froze so I could have shifted them whenever
