Ok but for what I do the Lease option seems too restrictive ... I mod, I drive and drive off road not afraid of a ding or scratch and it seems like I would get "owned" if I did a lease.

If you don’t plan on buying out at the end of the lease then it’s not for you. In fact you shouldn’t lease at all. You always want to either buy/trade in at the end and avoid the disposition fee. Leasing is not for everyone but it’s also not the worst thing you can do, like many members try to tell you.

 

You literally have no facts to back up anything you’ve said, just like him. But that’s fine you can pretend to take the high road (the wrong road) all you want. I’m not confrontational until someone is giving bad advice about something they know nothing about.

 

I do trade mine, I don't just walk away. but I also usually never make it to lease end before I trade. if you lease the right vehicles, you can usually swap about every 18-24 months. at least that has been my experience.

 

Thanks, Understand that with all that said and done the lease option would not be for me since I am as unpredictable as one can get like when I brought the FJ Cruiser I said I am Keeping this Thing oh I love it and two years latter after a ton of Mods the right $$ was waved at me and I hit "SOLD" and got a Tundra said the same thing and 3 years Latter I traded that in... oh you in Buffalo oh I know that area well use to go to the state fair grounds there for the Ham Fest and sell off all my extra computer stock... then we would take a run across the peace bridge to Sundowners... oh shame on us.

$36000 residual is bad. This is a bad lease deal. Don’t care if you plan to walk away, trade in, buy out. Is that enough facts?

OP was confused, that’s the current buyout not residual. Buyout is residual plus remaining lease payments. And even if it was 36k, if you plan to walk away at lease end then it’s a good payment. And as far as being stuck with the residual, it’s called gap insurance, so new lessee would be fine if he totaled it.

 

Yea we get members coming in and spewing nonsense then not backing up their claims.

 

This is from another post the OP made. We discussed in that thread that he did indeed make a deal on the lease. As you can see his residual is “just under 30k” and not 36k like has been stated here. So again that 5500 down is most likely gone, but someone would love to take over this lease for 374mo. Good luck OP and happy new year.
