198k. Supercharged for about 70k. Did tb/water pump and seals at ~100k. Coming due again. Valve cover gaskets done about 80k ago. Running strong. Has recently started consuming some oil between changes (have to top off occasionally). Not sure why but not really a big deal at this time.

    "You used the wrong injector"
The one on the left in the package is the ones I used to replace them. They are flow rated and matched from motor west performance that specializes in injectors. Did they send me the wrong ones?

I replaced all of the injectors "matched set"
I really dont think the motor was replaced. Neglected yes replaced no. The gas tank was replaced
I just checked the motor mounts. The bolts are undisturbed. They look identical to all the other bolts that where factory, bolts that have been replaced have clear marks on them.
I will look for the motor vin to confirm this on a warmer day. When checking the truck vin the service records and registration all lead up the an accurate milage.

I am prety sure I put the right injectors in. They are flow rated matched injectors so yes it is a complete set all matching.

Like I said before the I am prety sure the previous injectors I removed were wrong. On top of that one was clearly newer than the others.

My mechanic friend that helped me do this job was impressed at how clean it was under the valve covers.
When I first got the truck I was told by a shop that the truck sittng was worse than one with a lot of miles. I have been replacing everything rubber outside of the cab for a while now.

I think your seeing the lighting. This was taken at 10pm. My mechanic friend was saying how great it looked under there. As for the old injectors being the wrong ones yes. I think so too. When I took the intake plenum off I found they had pinched a wiring harness too. Other than the high idle the thing runs better now that it ever has since I got it. It will smoke the 285/75/16 tires. Befor it was misfiring so bad it could barely make it up the hill to get to work

Have two 3.4 engines via 4runners one with 365k (got it at about 90k), and another with 189k (got it with 70k).

Only real issue I dislike about the 3.4 is the leak prone-ness of the valve head, and its a pain having to take the air hoses off to change the spark plugs. Solid engine though, haven't really had any issues with them besides the leaking valve gasket. Possibly also wish it wasn't a timing belt, but honestly they tend to last a good while, and mine in particular seem okay. Hm, also the engine is harder to work on then say a 4cy, but its not all that much more trouble.

Also hate the dip stick style for the transmission for the 3.4 vehicles. Darn thing can sometimes be a big hassle to get it in and out with all it's tilts and turns haha.

That looks much better but what happened to your wire harness heat shield???

If it’s gone because it’s cracked you need to get some Tesa tape( rated at 300 degrees and protect those wires.

I did not have any of that at the time. I did wrap everything up made a new cover basically with UL 181 A-P and UL 181 B-FX foil back tape with a rated operational temperature range of -40°Fahrenheit to 300° Fahrenheit. Your tesa tape looks much better.
