Is there any good reason not to flip my stock location under-bed spare tire over so I can easily check pressure?

I think the popular TW scare is breaking the valve stem off.

But I don’t consider that a valid point.

Only thing I can think of is if a rock smashes your valve stem when offroad.

In my gen2 I had a matching spare. I left that the way it was so it wouldn't get damaged from road debris and whatever.

I think if I faced the valve stem to the front, it’ll be guarded by the diff.

I think they do mount it that way from the factory so that the inside of the rim does fill up with mud and or snow causing too much weight to accumulate inside the rim. I've always flipped my spare and have never had an issue, just make sure to drop it every once in awhile and wash it out

You could very easily bend some steel or aluminum and make a plate to cover the valve stem. It may not be necessary though.

I flipped mine, not at all worried about damaging the valve stem. Btw, has anyone ever?? What are the odds?? lol!

    I'll take those odds over...

Not sure if this a thing, does a valve stem extension exist? So you could keep the tire mounted as is, but still check the tire pressure easily.

I think it would be more likely to damage your physical rim than to hurt the valve stem when off roading.

Flip it if you want. Although if you are relying on this spare to save you in a true off road off the grid situation. I wouldn't be leaving it under the bed of the truck period, no matter which way is was facing. It would be in the bed. Good luck trying to get the spare off in situation where you are stuck deep in a ditch and can't get under the truck.
