I'd love one of these in Dark Blue (like voodoo blue) for a 2nd gen skewp hood.

1st question: How do these hold up over time and extreme UV?? I live in S Florida (pretty much on the surface of the sun) worried about this fusing with the paint and cracking

2nd question: Any more pics on a cement?? Lol

I imagine your local reputable tint installers would do a pretty good job. That's whom I'm going to.

I was thinking since the seller is based out of LI, he might also be able to install. Would only be about an hour drive for me.

If you want it so bad send him an email via the link on the FB site. Chances are he's doing something for the holidays and took a break making them for a bit. Remember this is a side gig for the OP.

I gotta ask before I get started on my vinyl job, was taking it all the way to the back edge as hard as it’s looks? I’m figuring on having to use a heat gun. I just got my piece of deep black 3m 1080 in today and I’m just going to use a piece of knifless tape and make a design of some sort but want to go to the back edge like you did.

I made my own flatblack bedside decal for my MGM amd love the way it came out. Id love to add this to my truck but i jist dont think it looks as good on the darker MGM as it does on other colors. I think it looks best on the calvary blue but thats just my 2 cents. Hopefully some more MGM will post pics of this installed amd change my opinion

I lied... lol i made a flat black one and didnt like how it looked so i used gloss instead... maybe if the hood vinyl was gloss it would change my mind. I would make my own but my machine can only cut 15in wide...

I emailed him twice but hadn't heard back. I know it's a busy time of year and didn't want to keep bugging him, which is why I asked if anyone else had ordered about the same time as me, since I figured he was probably busy with all the holiday chaos.

Has anyone tried to install one of these decals on top of the OEM paint protection film? After inspecting it today, my tint guy told me that it probably won't stick very well and that it may even ruin the underlying protection when it peels off.

I was going to try installing mine tomorrow, but now I'm a little hesitant to do so. Has anyone encountered this before?

I’m going to install mine and just lay the knifless tape right beside the edge of the film plus it will serve as a guide for the tape. I think at the minimum you will see the edge through your vinyl and I don’t want that myself and over time I think it will cause an issue. I have plenty of vinyl and if I get bored I may stick a small piece up and on the film but I know there will be a ridge that shows.

My OEM protective film covers the entire hood, so I'm not concerned about the edges. I'm worried about the ability of the decal to stick properly on top of the protective film, as my tint guy warned me that it won't stick nearly as well as it normally would to the painted surface.

Does that make sense? Hell, I didn't even realize the film was on there until yesterday.

It does now, I assumed yours was like mine and mine just comes back a little bit further than my Aeroskin bug shield. If I was in your shoes I’d lay it down and see what happens. I feel like it will stick myself and at this point what do you have to loose.

Edit to add from a vinyl company:
we can confidently say that our vinyl films will stick to any painted surface on a vehicle and most smooth non-porous materials (bare metal, plastic, etc.)
