B04 files received and I'm B03. Told him I was gonna get the tsb done awhile ago so he probably changed it. And I ended up not getting it because I told the dealer not too update it. They updated it last time without telling me. So I see it as my fault lol

7zip will also uncompress the download. 7zip or winrar are programs you have to download and install.

No issues with my twin. Tested it this morning and idle was rock steady. How old is your battery? If it's old the alternator may be working harder to keep up the amps.

Happy New Years all ..Test drove 1.05 87 finally, didn’t like it went back to 1.04 87. Didn’t like how 1,2,3,4 shift so fast at under 35 mph. Less clunk than 1.04 and a little smoother but not enough for me to stay. 1.04 has better power coming out of a turn and the truck feels lighter. Everyone has their own opinion but I’m a heavy footer so I’m sticking with 1.04. Btw thanks Matt for all your hard work.

Coming from 1.03 I definitely feel the lack of power even in mid range... also i feel as it shift gears to fast. Wired but am I the only one getting less mpg? I usually average 16mpg on same route to work but I've only gotten 13.5 so far this past days. I constantly get 6-5, 5-6 gear dancing on freeway. I do like the smoothness of gear changing and no more clunk. I will wait for custom tune and give it another shot! Good thing I didn't update to latest TSB.

Same here no midrange and low. To me honestly the shifting feels like stock.

Do you even understand the point of what Mat is doing? It was NEVER about power, rather drive ability. Sure, there will be some inherent gains, but that has never been the point of this tune. However, the 93 file does have more focus on power for those who have access to 93 octane fuel.

And coming from 1.03 to 1.05 it will feel different. There were a lot of changes done in 1.04 to make power delivery more linear rather then a shot of nos.

How many miles do you have on 1.05?

For me a heavy foot negates the quick shifting. It only does that on light acceleration, which I'm fine with.

1.03 is definitely the most aggressive version of any tune we put out. Some people, especially with heavier trucks, larger tires, and wheels enjoy that. Part of the reason may be that trucks with all of this additional weight need the extra throttle just to get moving. But for most, with stock, or stock like trucks, 1.03 was over the top.

With 1.05, our sole purpose was to fix everything we possibly could to make a well rounded, stock like, functional truck. Raw power was not the goal with 1.05, nor as immediate or aggressive response like 1.03.
So far the reviews and emails regarding 1.05 are overwhelmingly positive (thank you!). Some trucks are getting much better MPG differences than even I anticipated and that's what's more amazing than anything, and one of the primary goals in making 1.05 create the Tacoma everyone (or most) thought they would be buying from Toyota.

1.05 is not a mandatory update, some may prefer 1.03, or 1.04. There might even be someone out there on 1.01 lol. It's all about how you want your truck to drive.

    happy new years everyone.

I just flashed mine, 1.05 87, what a huge difference in just the shifting alone. My son doesn't drive my truck that often and he noticed a big difference right from the beginning. It was well worth the wait. I'm going to run 87 until I run out then flash to the 1.05 93. Try that for a while and see what suits me the best. Thanks for a great update.

Shouldn't it be able to identify it now though, since it has completed successfully, or at least said it did?

just drove 150mile trip through mountains.

5th and 6th are best they have ever been.

    BUT.

when the truck needs to downshift from 5th to 4th to keeo momentum at 65-70mph. it skips 4th and goes right to 3rd... reving its balls off...

both in cruize and me running the pedal.

bone stock trd offroad, stock tires. me (165lbs) wife (128lbs) and two kids (50lbs each).
