No the Jeep isn’t going to be as reliable as the Toyota.

VW I'll agree with but Subaru is one of the top-ranked brands for reliability. I've had 3, my daughter has one and my step-son has one. None have had any significant problems with a couple hundred thousand miles of use.

Subarus have a great AWD system and low center of gravity, and VW at least makes nice-ish cars that handle well, and they have a great warranty. I would feel like I made a good decision if I bought either brand.

Jeep makes vehicles that are about as close as one can legally get to a metal box on wheels. But without the reliability you’d expect of such a simple machine. About all they have going for them is that they look kind of cool.

CPS failure would do that too but I don't remember if that was an issue on 17s.

The few people I've known with late model Subarus have had nothing but oil consumption problems.

CPS definitely caused trail stranding for some. I carried a spare for a while until the recall was issued.

Subarus were great until you had to shell out for the head gasket issue. Still wouldn't say no to one. Drive around in Vermont in the winter if you want to see mostly Subarus and Tacomas :)

I had a '01 with the head-gasket issue at 102k but not a single problem until then. Wife now has a '15 and won't drive anything else. They are awesome in snow.

My 2013 Subaru crosstrek has been amazing and doesn’t need ANY service outside oil/coolant changes till 100k. Mainly the CVT transmission fluid change. Toyota is now paired with Subaru engines in some cars and have some of the same parts. Subis are awesome and I’d buy another without question. They are the closest thing to Toyota

You can take it to autozone or wherever to get the codes cleared. If you're still stuck in limp mode, disconnect the battery for 15 minutes or so. That should clear them. Don't drive it if they pop right up again, something else is wrong.

Seriously, a Subaru with snow tires is like cheat mode in the winter.

Yes. 4H not so much snow as it was ice. 20 -25 MPH. Will get the computer to clear codes. Unhocked battery and they cleared and I got home.
