I understand they don’t have an obligation and they have great products don’t get me wrong, I see it as HUGE missed opportunity. Mesojdm provided free R&D and made most if not all of TW interested in their product just so they could have a 3rd brake light. Think about it 5 lights per housing, and how many people are looking at this thread constantly lets just say 100 people buy that’s $30,000 just for lights. $300 per person and people are waiting to throw money at them. To me thats easy sales, and now for that 100 people most will likely want to check out the other lighting items and buy more products.

Vendor involvement is huge thing on Tacoma world, and those that get involved find great success. Any way to sum it up companies can do as they please, I just see it as a huge opportunity to easily increase sales, hell imagine if a dealership wanted to put them on their trucks they sell.

Sure. They as a company upgraded their lights to better their product. Unfortunately they are bigger dimensionally. If there is still a ton of interest I’m sure Meso will tweak the housing to fit them. No harm no foul.

Appreciate your support for our products and for Meso Customs! This project was simply something I took a liking to and really wanted to push through. I have a strong love for Tacoma World (I've been a TW member LONG before I started with KC) and I love to support this community and those that make it the special place it is. Our entire team absolutely love how this product turned out.

Woo hoo!!! It's TIIIME (insert Bruce Buffer voice here).

But on a serious note, thank you for making this design around our lights and sticking with it! Give me a ring or shoot me an email if you need anything from me.

Although it's a bit of a bummer for all those that wanted the BD version, that's the way things go sometimes - every company is constantly aiming to improve their products and it's the customers that benefit in the end! No doubt that the BD light is good.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!
What perfect time for a New BD concept:D

First... these new lights are HUGE. I had to go from 5-->4 in order to fit.
Second, I am now going to mount them from the back. This hides all the bolt holes, and is much more ascetically pleasing.
But in order to do that, it will have to be a 2pc design. With the outer shell snapping over the "base". In the long run this will be way better for install and user configuration(different lights, HAM antenna, etc)

Finally, you will notice the cab lights(2 outside) are angled down for better directional bed light(yes I have listened to comments and criticism!)

I'll have a proto printed next week. Cheers!

Pretty Sweet! Will not fit my 3rd gen access cab, but the angle looks like a great idea.

With the larger size of the lights, will 4 fit in the 2nd gen housing?

@mesojdm Thanks so much! Your innovation, products and service are truly remarkable!

Hi all, I thought I would share my install and thoughts on the MESO KC 3rd brake light. This has been one of my most anticipated MESO mods! To say I was excited was a huge understatement. I had to sit on it for a few days due to the holidays (sorry MESO). Fit, finish and design on this is flawless! Housing fits perfectly to the contour of the truck and the built in gasket seals up TIGHT! I went with three center brake lights and two outer cargo lights. I work pretty slow and carefully so it took me three hours to drop the headliner, install and wire up the finished housing and put headliner back up. I believe just about anyone should be able to do this with the right tools and research. Any questions feel free to ask. Like all MESO mods this is a BUY BUY BUY now! Perfection!

    1. Housing pics as it arrived

    2. Hardware necessary to mount the lights.

I had to hit up Home Depot for some screws, washers, rubber washers, lock nuts for the three center lights. More on this later. I also bought black screw caps to hide the stainless screws.

    3. Wiring and sealing up the housing.

I wired all the grounds up to one wire and it connects to the white/black wire. The positive from the inner brake lights connects to the purple factory wire. The positive wires from the outer cargo lights connects to green. I also sealed up everything well with silicone.

    4. Dropping the headliner

First time doing this for me so I was learning as I go. I did a little reading up on this. A few tricks like counter clockwise turn to get the sunvisor plastic holder out. As well to get the dome light housing out you have to pinch two tabs. For the most part any second Gen Tacoma headliner removal should be close. I guess this can be optional? I dropped it and it was great for access.

    5. Factory brake light removal

10mm wrench and two nuts removed from the inside then pulling it off and breaking the sticky gasket. Be sure to clean any residue off for a good seal!

    6. Install of wired up MESO light

See above for how to wire to factory wiring. Outer two bolts and kit(provided) are needed here to mount housing. I used some more silicon here on the threads.

    7. Light output pics

Light output is insane with the KC lights. Pics up shortly
