    Sorry for your loss man.
Why not get a double cab manual? Does the wife want you to get the auto?
That was one thing I stood my ground on. The wife wanted me to get a manual (prob so she would be able to drive it) but I've never owned an auto and don't plan on it for anytime in the near future.

This is too bad. I went through the same shit 30 years ago.
    Get married.
    She quits her job.
    She quits her birth control.
    She gets pregnant.
    That car hast to go.
    No more skateboarding!
    The motorcycle has to go.
you don't have time to go fishing.
    We need a bigger house.
    Another baby.
    Bigger car.
    life insurance.
    A bigger house.
    New furniture, etc. etc. etc.

Then she gets bored because I'm working all the time to pay for this shit, and it's all stuff she decided we should have.

    Eventually she divorces me.

I remember when she tells me:
"You're no fun anymore. You don't love me!"

Well DUH! You turned me into a farking work-zombie and made me get rid of everything that made my life fun!

    MY ADVICE:

    Don't sell the motorcycle!

Get on it and ride. Ride a couple days without stopping much. Then call her up.

Tell her you're in Wyoming and you haven't decided if you want to go back to a life that costs you everything you want just so she can have a baby and spoil it rotten.

Listen to what she says very closely before you decide to ride back.

Up until the age where a woman realizes that she's so old that no other man except you is ever going to want her, she thinks only of what she wants and how your duty as a man is to give it all to her and her babies.

Lots of babies ride around in a Toyota pickup truck and grow up just fine. If she doesn't think that $25,000 pickup truck is good enough for her child, take heed. NOTHING YOU CAN PROVIDE will ever be good enough.

<---married 3 times & finally recovered because my 3rd wife finally got "old enough."

The way I see it is, it's only a truck. There will be others to come. Family...esp baby comes 1st right now. I'm sure I'll get another Taco soon enough. Just gotta let the dust clear a little. My wife likes Tacoma's...it's just she wants one that she can drive and roomy enough for the baby. I was sad to see it go but when it comes down to it, in the end it's just metal and plastic. Those can always be replaced. Even tho I'm balling like a little school girl on the inside right now.

    OH, yeah.

    The babies are her babies.

Oh, they'll be "your children too" as long as she wants you to provide money to feed and cloth them, but if you ever go to divorce court you'll find out real fast that they're her babies.

No, it's not ONLY a truck, it's YOUR truck. (well it was...)

I eventually got another nice truck too.

    Three marriages later. :D

As bad as that is for you, I'm sure that's the last thing he wants to think about.

Dude it's all good man it's for the better, you'll get a new taco sooner or later. Like you said, in the end it's just metal and plastic, all that stuff can be replaced. As good of memories you had with your truck, think of how much better your memories will be with your child.

A LOT bitter still. I'd tell you the rest of the story, but it wouldn't seem any less brutal for all of it.

And it's not brutal. It's realist. This is what happened.

It's just that at the time I was telling myself "yeah, it's OK, she's right" because women will lay guilt on you with a trowel if you don't do what they want. I thought I agreed with her when it all was happening. It wan't until later that the reality hit home.

I was taken. Clear as day. Taken for every possible dime and she justified it because "it's for the babies".

Well, the reality is that she didn't have those babies for my benefit. They were for her. I was just a willing sperm and $$ doner.
