What is the biggest difference between 1.05 (v.2 idle surge fix) and the newest 1.05. They drive differently to me

@OVTune is the “Stock” tune that came with 1.04R also used with 1.05?

The "stock" tune provided should match what your truck came with, regardless of running 1.0x. If it didn't match you should open a ticket.

Edit - I don't think Mat is sending out the 'stock' tune in the files with 1.05. That was sent with earlier versions and it wouldn't make sense to keep sending the same file. If you upgraded with the TSB and told Mat I think he sent the TSB 'stock' tune with 1.04r from previous posts, but I'm not sure as I never got the TSB.

I had this happen once also, but not putting to much thought in it since I only have less then 100 miles on 1.05. Other then that one instance 1.05 has been superb!

Does anyone know if the 1.05 87 tune is tuned more so for mpg's and the 91 more for power and not so much for mpg's . There was talk of this a while back but has not been mentioned lately. no 93 here but we have top tier nonthanol 91 :) @OVTune

4th wouldn't be hitting 5500rpm at 65..... then it upshifts to 4th (a gear between the lugging gear and the revvy one).

confirmed my gear theory with S mode. 3rd amd 4th and 5th gear rpms match what it's doing

Higher octane always performs better, I use to run all 87 tunes, not with 1.05 though. There is a difference and it’s worth the $5 a tank

I get that and we have been running 91 fuel and the 91 tune , but are wondering if the 87 tune shifts or fuel maps etc. are more tuned for mpg's as compared to the 91 tune .

@OVTune for the MT version of 1.05, did FO vs MA maps remain a thing or is that now something we'd have to request via email? After running otto for the last two months, I love it and don't want to lose it lol

Go with the 91 for a couple tanks, then refill/return with 87 when close to empty and see the difference yourself. It doesn't take but a few minutes to try each and decide what works best for your driving style. I would start with the higher octane, then lower so I would have time to get used to the lower octane rather than the other way around.

But don't listen to me, I fill up with 92 and add octane booster to use the 93 tune... :burnrubber:

here is an example of what it does (at 50mph).. it goes from 5>3>4.... at 70mph when it does it.. it's not cool bouncing all the way up to 5500+ rpm. may have to change back to 1.04R until this is figured out. as it does it reliably...

You honestly won’t see better mpgs until you have 200 miles on the tune. I get the worse mileage on any octane until the tune settles (200 miles).

What I’m seeing in the video is completely normal for this engine during acceleration. And you are going 50, not 70...wtf?

These are higher revving Lexus engines

I’ve heard adding octane booster doesn’t actually work for the tunes, but that could be wrong. Just be aware

Well, I filled it at 76 with 92, but that is the minimum here. Haven't had any issues so far. I need to go to Kent and get some 101 unleaded to mix with the 92, but I'm lazy this week...

i was afraid you guys would say that with a video taken at 50mph.

it does it at 70mph.... completely skips 4th gear while only trying to maintain speed.(does it with cruise set)

going to take my previous video down, and go take one at 70mph for you guys.. trust me. not normal
