I don't want the unsprung weight of an E tire unless I actually need the load carrying capacity or maybe the increased resistance to sidewall punctures. For most drivers all an E rated tire does is cut mpg and increase braking distance.

Like I said, I didn't spot any differences, and I'm happy with how my truck performs.

Have you looked into the Hankook Dynapro ATM? I like them a lot and have had them on two different Tacos.

They also come stock on the higher trim of the new Ford Ranger (that’s not saying much, but still). They get excellent reviews.

These are 32” and weigh 39lbs.

After a couple years they get hard and are scary to drive on wet surfaces. I had them and loved them the first couple years. Then they became unsafe on simple wet roads. Got rid of them and got back to Michelin’s. Now maybe since OP drives so many miles they might be a good choice for him. Wear them out before they get hard and slick.

    Stock and staying that way
When the OEM Michelins wear out on my Limited, I plan to upgrade to the Michelin Latitude Tour.

Never had a problem with my KO2s, on my second set. I have yet to hydroplane, get lots of miles out of them. Great all round tire.

Do you drive 30,000 miles per year on the highway? :quickdraw:

I'm sorry but my KO2's are immensely better in the rain and snow compared to the stock Michelins and made it a completely different truck off-road. Yes, there is a slight bit more road noise (completely expected due to the considerably more aggressive tread) and going up a size and a higher load rating (265/75 E's) are bound to drop mileage a little bit--I saw about a 1 MPG decrease.

Given the advantages over the slight loss of mileage, they were a no-brainer... they're FAR from just about looks.

And to the OP, I drive about 25-30K a year, mostly highway and average a couple/few weekend camping/off-road trips a month. KO2's are fantastic tires despite what you read about them on this forum.

I don't understand the hate this forum has against E rated tires either... ESPECIALLY if you do any half-way serious trekking off-road (which I'm guessing the better portion don't). The stiffer sidewalls are considerably more durable and will withstand much more trail abuse than a lighter weight C tire. They are ever so slightly more stiff on the road but I don't find the ride that much different and prefer the more "connected" feel--it is a truck after all.

My driving is a mix of highway and city. Mostly on small two lane roads, not main highways.

There is definitely a lot of mixed feelings on the KO2. They are rated better in the snow and very close in all other categories. Not sure what to believe at this point.

The latitude is not rated very well in comparison. I would not consider them an upgrade

I have the same set up. The only difference is we rarely have snow in Texas. We do have sand and flat desert terrain. I feel that the KO2s are pretty dominant out here.

Glad they worked out for you, but most people feel the opposite.

Yep, it's a 39 year old tire concept. BFGoodrich has worked out most of the flaws since they released the original Radial All Terrain back in 1979.

It’s pretty hard to objectively compare tires. Go try the KO2’s and run them for a year and reply back with your analysis.

Also lot of other people with issues. I was able to find plenty of posts on not just this forum but others at well.. guy at discount tire didn’t want to tell me why he doesn’t recommend that tire until after i came back after the second balance... he said not the first time they had that problem with Wildpeaks. I remember my zeix having issues and sucking on my old Miata... sorry won’t try falken again I’ll stay with the top name.. you get what you pay for.
