It is! When he threw the offer my way. I could not say no. I really didn't want to do a second battery set up due to the cost, but I figured at that price point. It would be stupid not too.

Got the Dometic CFX-40W in today, fridge seems to be built very well, very quite and I was able to get it down to -4*F in about 40 minutes on A/C power. I am more than likely going to remove the rear driver side seat and install a platform to place it on. The lid opens about 75 degrees before hitting the top of the cab, so I don't think I need a slider. I am debating on were to place the second battery set up and I think its going to go in the red spot marked on the picture.

Should also be placing the order for the 80/20 here in a couple of weeks. So I will hopefully have it all the framing assembled by end of December.

It’s slowly going man, had a lot on my plate this past month, including getting married and honeymoon. The order for the 80/20 is in and will be delivered December 7th. That should be a big milestone for the build as all the framing will be done.

Also will be looking at buying the OME 3” around Black Friday, so hopefully I can find a good deal, been kinda holding out till BF.

    Quick Update!

Order an Icon Stage 2 lift today with SPC Uppers. Thanks to @battleboardoffroad for the good pricing and transparency. I will post pics of the set up when it comes in and installed.

Still...…………………...waiting on the 80/20. Should have pics of that by mid December. Then the sewing will start!

    80/20 is finally in!

Some pics for your viewing pleasure. Really happy with the quality of the metal. Still need to finish up some small things and have new parts sent because the company screwed up the inner platform measurements.

Then, I will be starting on the tent portion of this. I’ll get some weights for it later, but two guys can definetly pick the whole rack up.

Some more pics of the lift / wheel and tires. Currently at a stand still with the camper due to the shutdown, hopefully be back on track in February. Updated a bunch of info on post #1. Including truck weights / lift changes. Working on making post #2 a dedicated camper build thread. To give guidance for anyone looking to emulate the project on their own. Cheers!

Wheels are pretty solid so far. Haven't taken the truck off road or anything, but can't complain on the DD portion of it. Pics below.

I am sure that you can. It might a little goofy, but I can't see why it can't be done. The canvas in interesting though, I wish they had sizing for the canvas part. Might be worth getting that instead of sewing my own.

Call GoWesty for dimensions. You might be able to get some ideas by looking at VW wedge poptops. VW built wedge poptops since 1968, so there's plenty of junkyard VW vans to look at and salvage parts from.

Dimensions should be workable, VW poptops will be about 48" wide for the fabric, and about 56" wide for the fiberglass top no matter the year. Length will vary from 6' - 9' depending on year and model.

I am going to look at this. I was going to sew the fabric myself using 600 Denier Canvas Fabric. Actually recommended to me by SportMobile.

But this could be a nice alternative. If the fabric is at 48” max that won’t work. I need it to be minimum 53.25”. But length would work. I assume they make them, maybe they can resize for the build. Thanks for the info regardless!

Yeah, 49" is probably the max width for VW canvas, just measured my Eurovan canvas and it's 49" inside. You might be able to source the hinges, poptop struts and mounts from a VW. Sourcing from a Sportsmobile seems like a good idea.
