hey guys what’s up so I’ve had a very long week or so dealing and arguing with Toyota world of newton nj.. I bought an 18 trdsport in June I have 18k on the truck and my rear diff just went I drive all over the place in all sorts of terrain dirt roads, fire roads, snow, ice. I paid for the platinum warranty when I bought the truck and Toyota is telling me there not covering the truck because the things I do with the truck. I asked for the pricing because I was going to pay for it but when they told me it was going to be almost 7k to do the job i said Absolutly not. Can someone please tell me what I can do for them to cover this on the extra 3-4K I spent on the warantee... any help is amazing please

Need a little more information on this. Such as did you beat on the truck, did you use it for purposes outside what the truck was designed for. Is there physical damage, etc.

What do you mean the rear diff just went? No warning signs? I am guessing truck got towed to the dealer. How did they know what you do with the truck?

Did you take your truck in for the 10k free checkup and oil/filter change? Did they make any remarks about condition at that time? Modifications?

Most diff explosions I've seen is from being stuck, or doing burnouts and 1 tire fire for too long, this spins the diff as if the truck was turning on a dime at crazy speeds and heat. Usually the ring gear explodes into the diff housing.

Never beat on the truck I do use the four wheel drive a lot and yes it is an automatic... I’m a union lineman so I’m constantly traveling, worst/ muddiest thing I bring my truck in is fire dirt roads or a corn field to bring my dogs bird hunting... last weekend I was pulling my buddy out of the snow little wear on the one rear right tire of the truck so after we got him unstuck I took it out of fwd put it back in drive and when I stepped in the gas peddle it was making weird noises so I pulled over checked everything out it all looked good when I started driving again the thing just blew up. The dealer told me it got too hot but the only way I see diffs getting too hot is from lack of oil and I bring my truck to them every 5k miles for full service.

Call Toyota customer care and start a claim with them.

I’ve never been stuck in the truck but I have pulled a couple people out of being stuck in either snow or mud in the field we hunt

Was thinking about that they said they have Toyota coming out Friday too look at other vehicles and was told they are going to look at mine also but if I tow it to a different dealer won’t it be in the Toyota system already

What direction were you pulling from? If you had been pulling in reverse it would matter if you were driving a 3/4 ton Chevy the rear end could blow up.
