I got a set of KC C2 LED pods from TWSS and I plan using them for reverse lights (manually turned on and off, separate from my taillights). I’ve come up with 2 possible mounting options but, there are small problems with both.

First, I could make a mount (similar to a cb antenna mount) that would go oneither side of the tailgate and above the brake lights. However, I’m not sure where I would run the wires out of the pod since they may get pinched by thetailgate.

Second, I could mount them below the bumper which would allow for easywiring. However, I’m not sure where Iwould bolt them. There are a few bolts on the underside of the stock bumper(they seem very stuck) as well as a hole, but I’m lost as to how I would attach my mount. The underside of the bumper is pictured below. Thanks for any advice and feel free to give share different ideas for mounting locations. This is the mounting hardware I’m working with.69C3DCEA-65A1-4007-9C26-C6EDEDA92708.jpg

    Any luck with this, Hunter?

I am faced with the same quandary. I need to add some additional lighting and am quite frankly stymied. Changing out the stock back up lights for some nice bright LEDs will help, but only for when actively backing, not for working behind your truck. I have looked at flush mount lights, but nothing is small enough to fit anywhere on the bumper without chopping into something structural; the only possibility is a single flush mount on the right side of the number plate, opposite the trailer plug. As you have done, i have crawled around underneath looking for a convenient hole, and they don't seem to exist. I think we need to mount them a little ahead of the bumper, under the truck; this may reduce the lighting a bit - at best they would be level, and most likely facing at least a little bit down - but they would be more protected.

I've pretty much resigned myself to crafting a bracket that will hang the lights a couple inches in...still not a great solution.

If you have had an epiphany, let me know :)

    Happy new Year

    Bruce

I think I might have thought of something. I ordered some mounts from Amazon that I am going to clamp onto the bumper near each end, and hopefully it works. Here’s the link to them...
