You'd reflash whatever the stock tune file is for your post-TSB ECU version

Why not just run the 91 tune?

The way the tables are setup, for it to go to 3rd at that speed would require at least 52 + percent accel angle

Yeah from the video it looks like he’s mashing the pedal.

I’m really hoping 1.05 isn’t the final version of the tune. In my honest opinion it could really use some final tuning it’s going into 5th gear at 35mph and 6th at 42. It will still accelerate at those low rpms it just doesn’t feel right and makes the truck feel heavy. It also does a lot of 4-5-4-5-4-5 at speeds around 45/50mph.

You need to try the 93 tune... It's much better is all I can say. Don't get me wrong, the 91 tune is great. I just wanted to try it. I've been on 1.04 91 forever. 1.05 91 was much, much better, but the 93 has definitely hit the performance aspect. I'll probably run the 91 tune until the summer, then I'll be towing the boat, so...

04B03 Dongler handler here ....flashed 1.05 91. Throttle/power goes dead after turning a corner. Going up hill on the way to work the truck will not downshift unless I mash the pedal and still won't maintain my desired speed . At wot the truck shifts great in gears 1-3 and falls on it's face going into 4th . ECT is pretty good . Less aggressive it seems than 1.04 , which I will be flashing back to tomorrow . After the early reviews i was really hoping for more but happy with 1.04 . Anyone else on 04B03 have any feedback ? Been here since the beginning .

Been away for the Holidays.... I think I'm behind 50 pages !
May have been asked but if I load dongle-less 1.05 and decide against it can I go back to 1.04 ?

(I don't like the sounds of 35 MPH in 5th.)

@OVTune Maybe my SSP will overcome this and I'll have the best of both worlds ?

How do we go about getting shift lock ECT button? Do we just have to request it from Mat directly? I'm thinking the ability to hold the truck in 6 gear will net me some better highway fuel economy.

If you are cruising thru town 1.04 does 5 gear at 36 mph as well at least it did for mine.

What about at altitude though? I'm at 6,000k+. I was coming in here to ask if anyone at altitude had input on 1.05 87 vs 91 myself. My main concern right now is gas mileage/cost, no need for "performance" at the moment since I'm just doing city and highway driving. But on the other hand I will be towing a trailer a decent distance in the next week or so... Which reminds me, the shift dance is my biggest gripe with this truck by far, can anyone tell me if there'd be a disadvantage if I end up getting the shift lock option on 1.05 when it comes to towing?

04B30 2019 files will be available as soon as I have them ready. You're not the only person waiting. It's new years day I kinda wanted to take the day off but figures I can't. 2019 ecus are being worked on, there are multiple changes to them. And all last minute changes haven't to get trickled down into other ecu versions.

Also... I want to set some realistic expectations in people's minds. This tune, this update was designed to make the truck drive more efficiently, have better use of gears, and still maintain as excellent response as possible. I can't make the engine grow extra cylinders.
I don't know if some of you have actual issue or are "finding" issues that have, or were always there.
Like the 4-5 dance. Exists on stock. Exists on TSB. Shift points are on both and exists to a worse degree on stock / tsb.
Regarding upshifting at low speed. Truck will only do this if you're off the accelerator completely, or less than 5 percent angle. So if you are literally putting the weight of a hair on the gas pedal yep it will go to higher gears almost immediately.
I did this for a reason, which I've explained multiple times. It is not an issue, it's design. Before you think it's new, or an issue, go back to stock or tsb, give it no gas (where you upshift and decel) or tiny accel you will upshift just the same, they are even at lower points. The TSB version from Toyota drags the truck down, killing mpg.
On my test truck I can make it, on TSB upshift to 6th at 40mph and drop to 900 rpm. It's all about your right foot.

Finally, you are going to get the best experience with 93 and the worst experience with 87. Why? Because ignition makes torque. Ignition requires octane.

I'm legitimately going to start ignoring people if they can't even submit a ticket and wait for a response. With the exception of releasing 1.05 I'm off until the 3rd, and that includes registrations, custom tuning, etc.
I can't even get MT files out without getting bombarded with people wanting to custom tune right now today..

Fair enough. Thank you for your continued efforts. However, if you really want days off, there's absolutely nothing wrong with saying something like "no new files will be released until Thursday." I think that most people here, including myself, would definitely understand and encourage you to take a real break for a few days to spend time with your family. Such a declaration would also set proper expectations and prevent idiots like me from sitting next to our phones all week waiting/hoping to see an email from you any minute. Also, to be fair, your release blog post said "Currently we have all 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 (AT only) supported for 1.05," which is why I expected mine to drop any minute for the last several days, and couldn't figure out why it wasn't.

I didn't mean to offend or annoy you with my last post -- I simply couldn't take the indefinite waiting any longer. Several days of doing that in a row was simply too much to endure without finally asking you point blank what my expectations should be.

Once the dust settles, I also think it would be very interesting to hear what specific changes were made in the 2019 ECUs.

I have found that getting stoned after I work on the taco is always best. When I first got 1.04 I couldn't for the life of figure it out. I forgot or didn't understand that I needed to plug in the tactrix to the truck and the laptop before it would start working properly.
Last night I had it done on my 2nd try.
I was really stoned when I wrote an initial review. It's all good, I am very very happy that I found out about this product. Best mod I have ever done to my truck.
Can't wait to get off work so I can drive my 30 mile commute home. I love how it will gently but quickly downshift for 6th to 5th. It sounds so eloquent especially compared to what it was doing before 1.05. It would shift for 6th to 4th in this long loud, transmission slipping shift. It was horrible and I didn't know that it could be better.
Not only is it better, its fucking awesome. It feels like a 40 thousand dollar truck now. Mpg so far is the same 15 mpg on 87. I was on 91 with 1.04 and ran 92 on it. Quite frankly I was really happy with it but now I am falling in love with it all over again.

Mat, you are one of the best things that has happened to my truck. Very satisfied with my purchase!

I'm loving this tune. At first, the short shifting under light throttle was strange as I wasn't used to it but it really adjusts it's shift schedule based on load and no matter how much gas I give it, it always accelerates and shifts so smoothly. Highway behavior is so good now too, I'm totally blown away. I was super happy with 1.04, except for how 5th and 6th were on the highway, but the truck drives so perfectly now with 1.05 And no downshift clunk!

Debating if I should go from the 91 to the 93 tune.

Weird. I've been cruising around the hills and mountains of northern Montana for two full days, almost 500 miles so far, and haven't had a single 4th gear skip issue. I'm on 35s with 4.88s, steel bumpers, winch and a Leer shell and my Taco feels light and sporty trough all gears. It's also been getting absolutely unbelievable MPGs too. Which 1.05 version are you on?

The beauty of 1.05 is that the skinny pedal does what you tell it to.

Driving to the temple on Sunday with grandma, light on the pedal, it will shift to 5th relatively quick. Very acceptable since I'm asking the truck to drive conservatively.

Racing soccer mom on Saturday afternoon, moderate to heavy on the pedal, it will rev higher and hold gear longer before shift.

If I'm cruising along in 5th at 40 and mash the pedal, it will downshift accordingly and go, unlike the guessing game of stock tune.

The dead pedal feel is gone, across all speed and RPM. Whatever the truck is doing now is on YOU, YOUR throttle input euqates to meaningful real world tangible action.

Flash 1.05, give it few hundred miles of mixed driving. If you still not adjusted, then perhaps consider custom tune.
