Not quite turned to freezing rain and sleet now hovering around 9-10". Freezing rain and sleet are my arch nemesis since that ice storm we got back in '03 (I think it was 03).

I made it down last week. Really nice area. Lots of fire roads and primitive camping. No real offroading. Lots of waterfalls in this area. IMG_20181227_150443_798.jpg IMG_20181227_150443_804.jpg IMG_20181227_150443_801.jpg IMG_20181222_193436_064.jpg 20181222_135227.jpg

Shoot @EddyRRT a PM. I'm not sure he has made these kickouts for a third gen yet but I sure he could.

Lots of camp spots in this area and just to the north on wiggins spring road. Keep in mind these are fire roads so if you want a little more adventure flagpole, Crabtree or bald mtn are better options.

This is the beat camp spot I found along peddler river. I'm sure is busy in the prime months. Could get 4-5 trucks in there.

:D nice. That is a killer camp spot. I never even thought to pose on the rock ! Nice pic! I wanted to camp just down the hill from there on the river. I walked down the day after and almost was carried away by a hatch of some kind of winged terrorist. I attempted to fish under that bridge but all I caught was a crawdad on trout bait. I could see a school of catchable size fish but I guess they were suckers or some kind of non game fish.

I believe that part of the river is stocked. Have you taken the trailer up there yet? Are you still running with no sway bar even pulling the trailer? I have left mine on so far I kinda figured it was safer pulling the camper

I haven't had the trailer to rapidan yet. I have done flagpole, Crabtree and greenridge with it so far. Hunting season slowed down my camp trips drastically.

I took the sway bar off last year and have never felt the need to put it back on. I tend to drive conservatively though.

I'm going to have to think more on the sway bar. I just don't know if I wheel hard enough for the bennifit although it was explained to me this is one of the reasons it rides rougher off road

Looks like I need to get up there looks like a cool place to wheel. Is there some good camping in that area?
