I know from LEO and insurance sources of two mod things that could bend you over in an accident IF an investigation is performed: lights and brakes.

Yes, certainly agreed. If that was a response specifically to me, my only point was that since its (i.e. picture) already been posted, there's no way to actually delete it. Its cached in too many places.

I'll be the first to admit I've contemplated veering into the oncoming lane a few times just to try and take out Aholes with cheap chinese halfass LED upgrades. Injury atty slimeballs will be crawlin all over that one.

LEO here. Will agree. Aftermarket lights, especially one's not DOT approved can and will screw you.

That is true in a reflector housing. The OP is driving a Sport, which has projector housings. So yes, they do focus light the same way as halogens, no matter what bulb is in there the cutoff is the same. Why would you post something like that when you don’t know?

Glad you are okay OP. Hopefully insurance sets you straight without too much trouble.

    That being said,
The MGM sport hood make it through unscathed? :spy:

Were you able to salvage any of the aftermarket parts from the truck?

Honestly for the best. It sucks, but fighting potential gremlins over the years is really old. I got hit by a semi backing into our dock at work, and even after all the repairs, the hood to grille gap is just a little crooked. Irritates me every time I look at it too long.

This sounds like the road was curving to the left for you, and to the right for her, and she drove straight without turning and hit you? If so, then the beams from your lights were not aimed in her direction. Most of your light was going off the road to the right as you curved left.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
Who pissed you off today? Can you possibly put out a WORSE response - I don't think so! - GO AWAY!!

Besides how the heck could you not determine that the truck may have been cocked in a upward angle after the crash, causing the lights to appear extra bright ?

Sadly no, the grill was toast. Had I saved the original rims I could have saved the 3 that were left. The rest of the stuff was written into the value of the total loss. Luckily the suspension was 20 minutes shy of being installed so that is spared.
