The first version sold not by @FreshMexicanTaco was a big solid bar with a bunch of threaded holes, some were taken up by attachment fasteners. I stayed away because it was visibile and there is a slight contour to the trim. Similarly, the Expedition Essentials version looks like ass.

@FreshMexicanTaco 's is completely hidden and gives four solid mount locations. Considering phones, radios, and tablets plus all the available arms and compatible gizmo mounts, I don't see T track being an improvement? Using just 1.5in RAM arms, I have more than enough adjustment to keep me happy.

Plus, the use of real aerospace fasteners is just a cool factor for me.

I love my DMM! Super easy install and very solid. It’s what I’ve been looking for!

Thanks to all of you who have bought the DMM, I’m really glad you liked it and I hope those of you who just ordered it will find it useful.
All orders placed before today will ship tomorrow. New orders are shipping in about 3 days. I’m still catching up with holiday orders.

    Thanks again!

So since I bought this I went on a road trip to NC (11 hr). on the way up used the wifes labtop to play hulu and a aux cord for the sound. sucked. and the way back moved my mount to the passenger side and put the fire 7 in in it no problem and ran Bluetooth sound. so much better. made the trip nice for both of us. I could listen and she could watch. only took like a minute to move the mount also since I drilled all the holes when I installed it and I keep some allens in the truck. so happy. but I am curious about the power cord talk I was reading about. any news on that?

I have two prototypes that I’m working kinks out of. After that I will make some pre-production models for public testing and then I’ll get into production. It takes a while, especially when you don’t have time to do it... but I haven’t forgotten, the first version will be just a single powered usb a outlet that bolts on to the DMM and uses one of your spare holes to pass the wire through.

Is it something like the Choetech T530-S?
I was going to pull the trigger on this set up.
But I'll wait if your developing something better.

I finally got around to install my DMM, along with running power for hidden USB, hiding and connecting dash cam wire, and ham head unit connection... A little bit of a process :sawzall:
    IMG_20190102_8304.jpg

    Happy with the end result!IMG_20190102_1130.jpg

I opted against a phone holder, it seemed just a bit too bulky. I used it's 25->17 ball to attach a magnet (I'm using the same kind of magnet in my work truck, quite happy with it)

I am developing a simple USB port that bolts onto the DMM, it’s not a wireless charger itself like the one you mentioned.
I wish I had the knowledge, money and time to develop a nice wireless mount but..... I don’t. I try hard and I like creating stuff like this but I only recently started doing it on this scale so if you need a charger like that, I would suggest you buy it I don’t expect to start selling mine for some time...

I started looking at the various wireless phone mounts, way to many to sort out. Curious how did you settle on the choetech mount?
Did you research it or that one looked good to you?
Where did you tap the 12v from?
With the truck under warranty do I have to be careful were I attach 12v wire to?
I'm in the process of getting everything in order to the mod..
    Thanx,
    Roger

I saw the choetech on here, searched them and found it to have good reviews, fast charge rate and worked with the S9. I am very happy with it as it self locks, fast charges and works with my otterbox cover.
I had a fuse tap for my underdash lights and just tapped into that line, dremeled the corner of the DMM for the USB cable and used one of these https://www.amazon.com/YonHan-Charg...ocphy=9004741&hvtargid=pla-568899818102&psc=1 and hid everything under the dash.
    Don't forget the 17mm to 25mm adpter.

Just got the first part of my DDM install done, and I love it! I used a Scosche MagicMount Pro magnetic wireless charger, after trying out quite a few different ones. This seemed the best to me, as I could easily take off the back cover, drill some holes, and bolt it to a RAM mount with an AMPS hole pattern. Next step is to install a USB cable behind the dash and run it through one of the DMM holes to the charger.

Thanks to all who have posted info in this thread... I used a lot of it!!!

Here are links to what I used:

I like the idea of using spare screws to cover unused holes, I'll see if I can some kind of pop-in/out plug to include with the DMM.

I've been looking around for some rubber plug stoppers but can't find anything with quite the right fit. If you guys find something, let us know!
